Adrian Peterson Asks Vikings To 'Honor' Contract

May 30, 2015 12:49 PM

Adrian Peterson has no guaranteed money remaining on his deal with the Minnesota Vikings and would like financial assurances from the Minnesota Vikings beyond the 2015 season.

Peterson is due $12.75 million in 2015 and his concern is with 2016.

"I love people who think they know it all!," Peterson wrote. "Smh, Research how many NFL teams hasn't honored a player's contract & learn something. Question for the people, is a contract two sided or one? Ok great two sided! Well why when one party decides ... Mr. ? we wan't you to take a pay cut now or better yet flat out release you! There's never no talk about honoring a contract!"

Peterson spent all but one game of last season serving a suspension stemming from his no-contest plea on what the league called "an incident of abusive discipline" toward his 4-year-old son.

"I know hundreds of player's that wished their team would've HONORED the contract! But instead got threw to the side like like trash," Peterson went on. "A lill crazy how one side has so much power that they can do as they please when it come to the contract!"

Zimmer: Peterson Can Play For Vikings Or Not At All

May 28, 2015 12:03 PM

The Minnesota Vikings are losing patience with Adrian Peterson, but they're not changing their position on his future with the team.

“Adrian has two choices: He can either play for us or he cannot play. He’s not going to play for anybody else,” said Mike Zimmer.

Peterson has sought a trade from the Vikings because he felt a lack of support from the franchise during his child abuse suspension.

The Vikings have been adamant they intend to keep Peterson.

Adrian Peterson Won't Attend OTAs With Vikings

May 26, 2015 12:53 PM

Adrian Peterson will not attend optional team practices this week with the Minnesota Viings.

Peterson did attend the optional workouts last summer while Zimmer was orienting himself in his first months on the job, but has skipped them in the past.

This time, however, it could cost him a $250,000 workout bonus and comes in the context of his expressed unhappiness with the organization.

Peterson has made it clear through his representatives this offseason that he would like to play elsewhere next season because he does not believe the Vikings showed enough support of him while he was dealing with child abuse charges last season.

NFLPA Files Motion To Hold NFL, Goodell In Contempt Of Court

May 20, 2015 12:41 PM

Eric Winston, president of the NFLPA, released the following statement as they file a motion to hold the NFL and Roger Goodell in contempt of court regarding the Adrian Peterson matter.

"The players filed a motion in Federal Court in the Adrian Peterson matter because the Commissioner and NFL have deliberately ignored both the Court's decision from eleven weeks ago and our repeated requests to comply with that order.

"On February 26th, the NFL was ordered to change their decision in the Peterson matter and reissue a ruling consistent with our collective bargaining agreement. The Union made multiple requests to the League office asking the arbitrator, who serves at the direction of the Commissioner, to comply with the law and avoid further litigation. Despite our attempts, they have done nothing and leave us no choice but to seek this motion.

"The delay tactics, inconsistencies and arbitrary decision making of the League has continued to hurt the rights of players, the credibility of the League office and the integrity of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the absence of any action by the NFL's governing board of owners, the players have acted to hold the NFL accountable to our players, the CBA and to the law."

Peterson has attempted to leave the Minnesota Vikings this offseason.

"The Vikings not lettin' that happen, 'cause if they did, the league would know what would happen," Bryant said. "That man is a monster."
