Peterson: McCoy Doesn't Believe He's Best RB In NFL

Dec 8, 2014 4:19 PM

Adrian Peterson doesn't believe that LeSean McCoy actually believes he's the best running back in the NFL.

"I definitely started laughing,” Peterson said. “It was funny because when Stephen [A. Smith] asked him the question, you know, he kind of hesitated. If you watched it, you know he didn't believe it when he said it. So I've got to tell the youngsters, ‘Next time, say it with your chest, man. Say it like you mean it!'"

McCoy led the NFL in rushing in 2013 while Peterson ranked fourth.

"But the last three years? I've been All-Pro, first-team, twice. I never leave the field. I block. I catch. I never leave the field," McCoy said. "I don't have anybody do my job; I do it myself. Tons of credit goes out to Adrian Peterson. I'm a big fan of his, for sure. But I feel I'm the best."

Vikings Not Planning On Trading Christian Ponder

May 19, 2014 11:31 PM

The Minnesota Vikings aren't interested in trading Christian Ponder, despite a disappointing start to his NFL career.

Ponder is one of just two quarterbacks on the roster, as he's expected to be Matt Cassel's backup.

"That would leave us with one quarterback. I would not do that," Rick Spielman said. "We're going to need two quarterbacks. Three."

The Vikings decided not to pick up the fifth-year option on Ponder, whom they took with the 12th pick in the 2011 draft.

The Rams own the second overall pick and could select a quarterback to replace Bradford.

Johnny Manziel is of interest to the Rams.

Bradford has cap hits of $17.6 million in 2014 and $16.58 million in 2015.

For a team dealing for Bradford, all $50 million of his guaranteed money has already been paid.
