The Chicago Bears have signed Jared Allen to a four-year deal worth as much as $32 million.

Allen will receive $15.5 million in guaranteed money and could void after three years and $24 million.

"We're really excited about adding Jared to our football team. We know what his abilities bring to the table," Bears coach Mark Trestman told the team's website. "We believe he's going to come in hungry and excited to be part of our football team, and we believe he'll fit right in."

Allen has 128.5 career sacks, 12th most in NFL history.

Allen had also visited the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys while also considering the idea of retirement.

Captain Munnerlyn and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed upon a three-year, $15 million deal.

Munnerlyn finished 2013 as the 13th best cornerback in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

Munnerlyn has four career pick-sixes.

The Vikings were second worst in passing yards allowed in 2013.

Munnerlyn represents another valuable asset lost this offseason by the Carolina Panthers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with Toby Gerhart on a three-year, $10.5 million deal, according to a source. The deal includes $4.5 million in guaranteed money.

Gerhart has served as Adrian Peterson's backup running back with the Minnesota Vikings since coming into the NFL.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a five-year, $31.5 million deal with Linval Joseph.

Joseph was previously a defensive tackle with the New York Giants.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Michael Johnson have already agreed to a five-year, $43.75 million deal, according to a report.

Johnson will receive $24 million in guaranteed money.

Johnson is one of the top defensive ends on the open market.

Everson Griffen has re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings on a five-year, $42.5 million deal.

Griffen will receive $20 million in guaranteed money.

Griffen had eight sacks in 2012 and appears to be on the cusp of breaking out into an elite pass rusher.

The Philadelphia Eagles are interested in Michael Johnson.

Johnson is one of the best free agent pass rushers available and also will receive interest from the Minnesota Vikings.

The Eagles are approximately $24 million below the salary cap.

Matt Cassel has re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings on a two-year, $10 million deal.

The Houston Texans would have been a potential destination for Cassel if he had hit open the market.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders are the leading candidates to sign Michael Vick.

The Minnesota Vikings are considered a longshot to sign Vick despite lobbying from Adrian Peterson.

With Michael Vick hitting free agency, Adrian Peterson is lobbying for the Minnesota Vikings to sign him to a deal.

"(Vick) would intently make the vikings a playoff team!" wrote Peterson on his Twitter page.

Christian Ponder is the only quarterback currently on the Vikings' roster.

Vick started six games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season before losing his job to Nick Foles after a hamstring injury.

It is unlikely that Vick would be viewed as an ideal fit for Norv Turner's offense.
