Wilf says he's "optimistic" the Metrodome site will work even though it would mean relocating to the University of Minnesota for up to three seasons.

“Alan and Brendan have both proved themselves as quality coaches in our League,” said Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier. “I had the chance to work directly with both men and can’t say enough about their character, work ethic and ability to connect with players and push them to be their best.”

Adrian Peterson Begins Rehabbing Knee
Following major knee surgery, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is up walking around and has started the rehabilitation process.
Peterson and Vikings head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman met with reporters on Friday to give an update on his recovery, two weeks after Peterson had surgery to reconstruct the ACL and repair the MCL in his left knee.
"I feel like the first week was the toughest part for me, not being able to sleep, waking up every two hours, just dealing with the pain and the frustration, looking ahead like, 'Wow, I've got a long way before I'm able just to move around and walk,'" Peterson said.
"But after that first week, I feel like things really just started to calm down. The pain started to subside. I was able to just get more motivated about the process."

Calvin Johnson, Jared Allen Top All-Pros
Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson and Vikings defensive end Jared Allen were the leading vote getters for The Associated Press 2011 NFL All-Pro Team.
Johnson and Allen were each one vote shy of being a unanimous pick.
"That's sweet," Johnson said. "That's one of the best honors you can have other than being a Super Bowl champion. To be an All-Pro is a tremendous honor."
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made the team for the first time, easily beating Drew Brees of the Saints, 47˝ to 2˝.
Rodgers led Green Bay to a league-best 15-1 record this season, after taking the Packers to the Super Bowl title last February.
"I am a competitor," Rodgers said. "I care desperately about winning and doing everything I can to contribute. But personally, speaking for my own self, you learn exactly what you need to do to be able to balance the pressure from the outside with the pressure from within, that you put on yourself to be successful. Last year's run is really going to help all of us and our preparation through the week."

Ponder Assured Vikings Won't Draft Quarterback

"I talked to our GM (Rick Spielman) yesterday."
Spielman, who was promoted from vice president of player personnel to general manager on Tuesday, gave Ponder a vote of confidence.
"(Coach) Leslie (Frazier) will make the decision on who is starting quarterback. But I have the utmost faith in Christian Ponder," Spielman said.
"The quarterback positions, there's a lot of growing pains involved. I have the utmost confidence Christian Ponder will be our franchise quarterback."
Vikings Name Rick Spielman General Manager
The Vikings have named Rick Spielman General Manager of the franchise. Spielman joined the team in 2006 and has served as Vice President of Player Personnel during his tenure with the Vikings. Spielman will oversee all football-related activities for the Vikings, including continuing to direct college and pro personnel programs.
“This establishes the organizational structure that will lead to the long term success of the Vikings,” said Vikings Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf. “Having watched Rick over the years, we have the utmost confidence that he will help us reach our ultimate goal of winning championships.”
