Favre Still Hasn't Passed Concussion Test

May 28, 2014 6:59 AM

Brett Favre still hasn't passed his concussion test and his status for Minnesota's season finale remains in doubt. Favre hasn't been able to play in two of the team's last three games. "We'd love to see him play," interim coach Leslie Frazier said. "There's no question about that." Friday will likely be the cutoff date for Favre if he isn't able to pass the required tests.

Favre Fined $50K For Not Cooperating With Investigation

Jul 15, 2014 12:08 PM

Brett Favre has been fined $50,000 by the NFL for a "failure to cooperate" with the investigation into allegations he sent inappropriate messages to former Jets game-day hostess Jenn Sterger. The league said commissioner Roger Goodell "could not conclude" that Favre violated the league's personal conduct policy based on the evidence currently available to him. "The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger," the statement said. "The review found no evidence to contradict the statements of both Favre and Sterger that they never met in person, nor was there anything to suggest that Sterger engaged in any inappropriate conduct." The league's investigation began in October and the fine was announced Wednesday.

If Healthy, Favre Will Start Finale

Oct 16, 2014 2:30 PM

Brett Favre will start at quarterback in Minnesota's season finale on Sunday if he's healthy. The Vikings upset the Eagles 24-14 on Tuesday night thanks in large part to the play of rookie Joe Webb. "If Brett can go, Brett will be our quarterback for sure, if he were able to pass the concussion test," interim coach Leslie Frazier said. "So it wouldn't be an issue for me or our team if Brett were able to go."

Sources say the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission is assessing the viability of playing the 2011 season outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota, the stadium that hosted the Vikings' game against the Chicago Bears when the Metrodome roof was damaged by heavy snow. The commission will deliver its findings to the Vikings in late January or early February. After reviewing the findings, owner Zigi Wilf will make a decision in consultation with the NFL on whether to play the 2011 season at the Metrodome or TCF Bank Stadium, according to team and league sources.

Vikings List Favre As Doubtful

Oct 15, 2014 11:42 PM

The Vikings have officially listed Brett Favre as doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Eagles. Favre is dealing with a concussion, but Minnesota is leaving the door open for him to play. The team listed him as "out" a week ago, but upgraded him to questionable the day of the game and he ended up starting against the Bears. "No 'out' with Brett Favre," Leslie Frazier said. "Will not use that term."
