The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, citing a source close to the situation, on Wednesday reported the Packers were considering seeking a Brett Favre deal with one of their rivals, most likely the Minnesota Vikings or Chicago Bears, if all else fails.
That follows reports that the Packers on Wednesday offered Favre a substantial sum of money -- as much as $20 million over several years -- to stay retired.

Peterson Believes Patience Will Make Him Better
Adrian Peterson is trying to become more patient as he begins his second season in the NFL.
"I've got the mind-set; I want to score every time," Peterson said Monday. "Last year, coming into it I was just coming out full speed out the blocks. As I watched tape and watched times when I was slower with my footwork and how things opened up better for me, it was a lot easier for me to focus on the little things.
