The Minnesota Vikings are looking to acquire quarterback Sage Rosenfels from the Houston Texans, according to the Star Tribune. The team would love to make him the the backup behind Tarvaris Jackson. They list adding Rosenfels to their roster as priorities even with that of signing wide receiver Bernard Berrian and safety Madieu Williams.

Vikings head coach Brad Childress added the title of assistant head coach to Leslie Frazier?s role as defensive coordinator Wednesday, as reported by the Associated Press. Frazier interviewed for head coach openings in Miami and Atlanta this offseason, losing out to Tony Sparano and Mike Smith, respectively.

Linebacker Derrick Pope signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Pope filled in well for Zach Thomas with the Dolphins last season, posting career-highs in tackles (57) and interceptions (2).

The Vikings have agreed to terms with wide receiver Robert Ferguson on a one-year deal worth about $1 million, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com. He started eight games for Minnesota last season, catching 32 passes for 391 yards.

He canceled trips to Houston and Tennessee once Minnesota extended him an offer. "I was kind of shocked that the Vikings had interest in me," Hicks said Tuesday. "They have two great backs already in Adrian and Chester. I wanted to know, and my agent wanted to know, what could be their interest? But now I see the reason, and I see myself fitting into this offense very well."

The Minnesota Vikings are contemplating make a move to sign veteran defensive end Jevon Kearse, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Kearse spent five seasons in Philadelphia, including three when Vikings' Coach Brad Childress was the Eagles' offensive coordinator. The team lost out on DE Antawn Odom, who signed with the Bengals before getting to visit in Minnesota.

Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss, both free agents this offseason, have discussed reuniting this summer, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com. Moss reportedly contacted Culpepper on Saturday night to talk about the possibility of signing with the same team this winter, and finishing what they started as teammates in Minnesota. They talked on the phone and compared notes on what they have heard from teams, but won't come as a package deal, or at a discount, for any team.

Bernard Berrian is leaving one NFC North team for another, as reported by Yahoo.com. The Vikings signed the fleet WR Berrian on Saturday, taking him away from the Bears. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Chicago Tribune reported that the deal was for six years and included an estimated $16 million guaranteed.
