Bears Win Eliminates Surprising Vikings From Playoff Contention

Jun 10, 2014 9:24 AM

After starting the season so poorly behind the arm of quarterback Daunte Culpepper, the Minnesota Vikings went on to win 6-games straight after their MVP was lost for the season. With last night?s 30-23 loss to the Ravens, combined with the Bears victory over the Packers, the Vikings have seen their wild-card hopes disappear. "You start off with five losses in the first half of the season, it's going to be hard," free safety Darren Sharper said. "We tried. "It hurts because I came here to make the playoffs. We still had a shot. We just didn't make enough plays in a tough environment against a pretty good team."

Culpepper Sees FedEx Spot Pulled

Jul 16, 2014 1:52 PM

Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper has apparently been ?caught off guard? after the FedEx corporation decided to stop airing a commercial featuring Mr. Culpepper which comes as a result of the recent charges of indecent during a boat party on Lake Minnesota. "I thought we had a very strong relationship with them," Ashe said. "We, as his counsel, know there's no evidence to support any of these charges. So I'm just disappointed that FedEx decided to come to a premature conclusion before the truth that we know is apparent to everybody else."

Tice Unhappy With Scalpers Outside Metrodome

Jun 10, 2014 9:24 AM

Mike Tice told the Star Tribune of Minneapolis, Minn., that he was upset with the number of Steelers fans that occupied seats at the Metrodome on Sunday, estimating their numbers at 15,000 to 20,000. The newspaper reported that if Tice's estimation was correct, at least 10,000 of the Vikings' season-ticket holders sold their tickets. "It confuses me, I guess," Tice told the newspaper. "Maybe they're not really diehard season-ticket holders or maybe they needed the money for Christmas presents. I don't know. One of the two." However, in June, Tice was fined $100,000 by the NFL for scalping his Super Bowl tickets. Tice had acknowledged reselling some of his personal allotment of 12 Super Bowl tickets last season and had also resold his tickets as a Vikings assistant coach from 1996-2001.

Culpepper Finished In Minnesota?

Oct 14, 2014 7:27 AM

The rumors are getting louder that Minnesota quarterback Daunte Culpepper might have taken his last snap for the Vikes. With Brad Johnson proving the club can win without Culpepper, as well as the recent charge of indecent, lewd and disorderly conduct against the injured signal-caller, Culpepper might just be looking for a new employer in the near future.

Culpepper Amongst Four Vikings Charged With Love Boat Incident

Oct 14, 2014 7:26 AM

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and three other Minnesota Vikings were charged Thursday with three misdemeanors each for taking part in a bawdy boat party earlier this season on Lake Minnetonka. Culpepper, Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams were charged with indecent conduct, disorderly conduct and lewd or lascivious conduct, according to court papers. If convicted, each player faces up to a maximum of 90 days in jail and a $10,000 fine on each count. Prosecutor Steve Tallen's decision was based on findings by the Hennepin County sheriff's office, whose investigators reviewed allegations of lewd and drunken behavior aboard a floating party Oct. 6 that involved some Vikings players. Crew members complained that some people took off their clothes and engaged in public sex acts during the cruise, according to Stephen Doyle, an attorney representing the boat owners, Al & Alma's Supper Club and Charter Cruises in Mound. The crew members identified 17 Vikings among about 90 people on the two boats. The court papers released Thursday said Smoot and defensive end Lance Johnstone arranged the charter. Smoot declined comment in the team's locker room before practice. Both Culpepper and Williams are on injured reserve and in rehabilitation on their own, away from the team. McKinnie wasn't seen in the locker room. Vikings coach Mike Tice was careful with his reaction. "According to NFL rules and union contracts, there is a large difference between allegations and charges and convictions," Tice said. "So until at any point there is a conviction of some type, if there is, I have no action to take and nothing to say."
