Ryan Fitzpatrick Holds Lead For Dolphins' QB Job Over Josh Rosen

Jul 30, 2019 11:12 AM

Ryan Fitzpatrick holds the strong early edge over Josh Rosen during camp with the Miami Dolphins for their starting quarterback job.

"It's pretty clear to me that Ryan Fitzpatrick is leading the way," Brian Flores said. "He's done that in a lot of areas from leadership to production on the field, to the meeting rooms to the walk-throughs. This is an ongoing competition, but right now he's leading the way."

The Dolphins acquired Rosen from the Arizona Cardinals for a late second round pick and a 2020 fifth round pick.

"It's still a competition. Every day is a competition, I think they all know that but as we stand today I think Ryan has done a really job," Flores said. "Hopefully he continues to improve and is consistent and that will help this team for sure."

Dolphins Waive Kendrick Norton, Will Still Pay Full Salary

Jul 22, 2019 8:57 AM

The Miami Dolphins have waived Kendrick Norton following the amputation of his left arm following a car crash.

By placing Norton on the reserve/non-football injury list, the team is able to pay the 22-year-old his full salary.

Norton underwent at least six surgeries before he was released from the hospital last week.

"I just want to give a big thank-you, first of all, to God for me still being here. Second of all, to Jackson Medical Center. They did a great job. They took great care of me while I was in here," Norton told reporters outside the hospital. "Next, I would like to thank the Miami Dolphins family. They've been crazy with how much help they've been willing to give and, you know, they really didn't have to."
