Bengals' Germaine Pratt Regrets Reaction To Joseph Ossai Penalty

Jan 31, 2023 8:44 AM

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt expressed regret for his reaction that went viral after the team's AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

As Pratt entered the locker room at Arrowhead Stadium, Pratt was spotted yelling, "Why would you touch the f---ing quarterback?," referencing Joseph Ossai's penalty for unnecessary roughness that preceded the game-winning field goal.

On Monday, Pratt said the way he responded was incorrect.

"I was in the moment," Pratt said. "I was wrong. I would say I was wrong. As a man, you can look yourself in the mirror and say, 'I was wrong.' I wasn't a great teammate in that moment. That doesn't define me as a man."

Kelce Brothers Set To Make Super Bowl History

Jan 30, 2023 9:06 AM

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce will make NFL history when the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs face off in two weeks.

The pair will be the first brothers to play each other in the Super Bowl. Both are considered future Hall of Famers -- Jason at center and Travis at tight end.

Prior to the Chiefs defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, Jason was asked on the potential of facing Travis in the Super Bowl. He was a Chiefs fan during the AFC Championship Game at least.

"I got a Kansas City sweatshirt I'm gonna wear for the next three hours and then that's it for the rest of the year," Kelce said after the Eagles' NFC Championship Game victory. "Win or lose, I'm done being a Chiefs fan."

Patrick Mahomes Says He's 'Ready To Go' For AFC Title Game

Jan 26, 2023 8:27 AM

Patrick Mahomes is leaving no doubt that he'll play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

"AFC championship week," Mahomes said. "Ready to go."

Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in the first quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs' 27-20 playoff victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. He returned to the game in the second half.

Mahomes was listed as a full participant at Wednesday's practice. Mahomes said the ankle has progressed since the game against the Jaguars.

"It's doing good," he said. "I've done a few days of treatment, a few days of rehab. Excited to get on the practice field and kind of test it out and see where I'm at. But it's feeling good so far.

"I felt better than I thought I was going to be after the game. Moving on it during the game definitely hurt. But after the game, I was able to rest it and kind of ice it up and do different stuff like that. I felt in a little bit better position, and obviously the next morning felt a little bit better, and then I've continued to get better throughout the week, so we'll see how I feel today at practice."

Cautious Chiefs Preparing As Though Patrick Mahomes Will Play

Jan 24, 2023 8:40 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing as though Patrick Mahomes will play against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.

Andy Reid said the Chiefs aren't certain whether they will be able to go with Mahomes or have to use veteran Chad Henne at quarterback on Sunday.

"He's worked hard in the treatment and is doing OK," Reid said of Mahomes, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Saturday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"He mentioned it to you that he's going to play. That's his mindset, and then we'll just take it day by day and see how he does."
