Infographic: Five Teams Rank In Top-10 In Offense, Defense DVOA

Dec 13, 2017 12:29 PM

The NFL has five teams ranking in the top-10 in DVOA on both Offense and Defense after Week 14. In an indication of how much turnover there's been in parts of the NFL, none of those five teams (Rams, Eagles, Vikings, Saints and Chargers) made the playoffs in 2016.

The Chiefs, Cowboys, Steelers, Falcons and Patriots also rank in the top-10 on offense, while the Jaguars, Broncos, Panthers, Ravens and Cardinals rank in the top-10 on defense.

The Seahawks, who have consistently been one of the NFL's top teams in DVOA during the Russell Wilson era, are just outside the top-10 in both categories.

Larry Johnson Fears He's Suffering From CTE

Dec 12, 2017 6:32 PM

Larry Johnson believe he is now suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the degenerative brain disorder linked to more than 100 former football players.

Johnson is dealing with anxiety, paranoia, the occasional self-destructive impulse, which are consistent with CTE in past victims.

Johnson is now 38 years old and retired from the NFL in 2011.

Johnson set an NFL record in 2006 with 416 carries and was a two-time Pro Bowler.

Like Aaron Hernandez who suffered from CTE, Johnson has a history of erratic behavior and violence: He has been arrested six times, and several of the incidents involved Johnson physically assaulting women.

“Blank spots” are what Johnson calls the empty spaces in his memory, and there are seemingly more of them every year.

Johnson says years ago he was diagnosed him with type-1 bipolar disorder, a condition he blames on head injuries.
