Travis Kelce Signs Five-Year, $46M Extension With Chiefs

Travis Kelce has signed a five-year, $46 million extension with $20.017 million guaranteed.

The deal links Kelce and the Chiefs through 2021.

 

Kelce has been a consistent target for quarterback Alex Smith over the past two seasons after missing most of his 2013 rookie campaign following knee surgery.

Eagles Hire Doug Pederson As Head Coach

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to hire Doug Pederson as head coach.

Pederson has been offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs over the past three seasons. 

Pederson was previously with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 until 2012 with Andy Reid.

As a player, Pederson was Brett Favre's backup with the Green Bay Packers in two separate stints.

The hiring will become official as soon as the Chiefs' season concludes.

"We have concluded our search for a head coach. No further interviews are scheduled," said an Eagles' spokesman.

Jeremy Maclin Has Sprained Ankle, No ACL Tear

Jeremy Maclin has a sprained right ankle but he did not suffer a torn ACL.

The Kansas City Chiefs were initially concerned Maclin had hurt his knee ligament, which has been surgically repaired twice.

Maclin is day-to-day and could play again in the playoffs.

Maclin had 87 receptions for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

Seahawks Lead NFL In DVOA For 4th Straight Season (Infographic)

The Seattle Seahawks finished the 2015 season ranked first in Football Outsiders' Total DVOA following their blowout victory of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks have now finished first in DVOA for four straight seasons, which is the first time the feat has been accomplished.

The Cincinnati Bengals rank second in Total DVOA ahead of the Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs.

These were also the five teams, the Seahawks, Bengals, Cardinals, Panthers and Chiefs, to finish the 2015 regular season in the top-10 in both Offensive and Defensive DVOA.
