Chiefs Believe Eric Berry Has Lymphoma

Nov 26, 2014 11:23 AM

Eric Berry has what Kansas City Chiefs' officials believe is lymphoma -- a form of cancer -- and has been placed on the season-ending non-football illness list.

Berry will undergo further testing at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta to complete the diagnosis.

"At this point in time, we don't have a definitive diagnosis," Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder said at a news conference Monday afternoon. "But the leading consideration for what he has right now is lymphoma.

"We first were alerted to something on Thursday night. It's now Monday. We still don't have a definitive answer. That's OK. We'll get to the experts and we'll get the answer. We'll get a treatment program and we'll go from there."

Allen Bailey Motivated To Do Extension After Palmer Injury

Dec 3, 2014 5:30 AM

Allen Bailey decided to sign a four-year, $25 million extension just a few months before free agency was an option in which he would have received better offers on the open market.

“I saw the Carson Palmer incident,” said Bailey. “That was an eye-opener. Anything can happen, on any play. I decided to do it now. Plus, this is a great place for me. I love the family atmosphere we have here. We all buy in, and we all work hard. It’s a great bunch of guys.”

Bailey can play on the defensive line in both a 3-4 and 4-3 system.

Chiefs Sign Anthony Sherman To Three-Year, $7M Extension

Dec 18, 2014 10:16 AM

Anthony Sherman and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed upon a three-year, $7 million contract extension.

Sherman has been ranked as the NFL's best fullback this season by Pro Football Focus.

“It was important for us to keep Anthony here in Kansas City,” Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said in a release announcing the extension. “He brings a lot to our football team with not only his play, but his work ethic, leadership and character. He doesn’t get a lot of recognition at his position, but he has been a key component to our success as a team.”
