Geno Smith, who will begin a tour of NFL teams on Monday in Kansas City, hopes the Chiefs will consider drafting him next month.

"I hope Kansas City is legitimately interested. I hope I go No. 1, but, hey, we'll see," Smith said. "The Chiefs are bringing me in, so I'm going in there thinking that they're interested (in me), because I am in them.

"I'm just going to do what I've always done, try and impress them, just be myself and allow the process to do it's job and get ready for whoever drafts me. I'll be going Monday to Friday, working out for different teams."

The Kansas City Chiefs have added Brad Childress to Andy Reid's coaching staff.

He will be the team's spread game analyst and work on special projects.

Childress previously spent seven seasons (1999-2005) with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he worked with Reid.

Chase Daniel has agreed upon a three-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Daniel, who played at Missouri and has backed up Drew Brees with the Saints, will be the Chiefs' No. 2 quarterback behind Alex Smith.

Dunta Robinson reached agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday on a three-year deal.

Robinson was cut by the Atlanta Falcons last week.

Robinson had four interceptions over the past three seasons as one of the NFL's better cornerbacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs reached agreement with Dwayne Bowe on a five-year deal.

Bowe played last season on a $9.5 million deal as the team's franchise player.

The Kansas City Chiefs have used their franchise tag on left tackle Branden Albert.

Albert wants to remain on that side of the line.

“I’ll be playing left tackle,” Albert said Monday.

Albert played guard in college.
