Chiefs Were Never Close To Deal For Gonzalez

Aug 5, 2014 11:30 PM

A return to the Kansas City Chiefs was widely rumored for Tony Gonzalez, but a trade never came close to reality.

The Atlanta Falcons are virtually out of playoff contention, but a low-round draft pick for Gonzalez wouldn't have been worth it in leaving Matt Ryan without another reliable receiver.

Gonzalez plans on retiring at the end of the season.

Texans To Start Case Keenum Against Chiefs

Nov 22, 2014 3:07 PM

The Houston Texans will start Case Keenum at quarterback on Sunday when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

Matt Schaub has been struggling this season, but has been ruled out due to an ankle and foot injury.

"We're struggling, and we're looking for a spark," Gary Kubiak said. "I think he deserves an opportunity to go out there. It's a tough place to play. It's a tough place to get your first start and all that good stuff. But I'm not sending him out there by himself. I'm sending him out there with his football team, and the guys understand that."

T.J. Yates had been the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart.

Oct 29, 2014 10:50 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs' fans will attempt to break the Seattle Seahawks' fans crowd noise record this weekend when they host the Oakland Raiders.

A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand at Arrowhead to officially determine if Chiefs fans can top the 136.6 decibels.

The Raiders worked on fine-tuning their silent snap count this week.
