Ravens coach John Harbaugh says he wasn't trying to embarrass the Chiefs on Friday night in his team's 31-13 preseason victory.
Kansas City coach Todd Haley accused Harbaugh of running up the score in the final moments.
The Ravens scored with five seconds to play on a 1-yard touchdown run by rookie running back Anthony Allen.
"I want to apologize to the Chiefs if they feel like we were not doing the right thing at the end of the game," Harbaugh said. "The mindset was this is preseason. If this had been regular season, we would have been on a knee. The idea in that situation is to give these young guys who work hard and who are trying to make a football team to play the whole 60 minutes and give them a chance to show what they could do.
"I know that's debatable. I know there is a point of view both ways. I understand that. But I just felt like that was the right thing to do for our players, to give them a chance to play the game out and see what they could do."

Chiefs Refuse To Address Baldwin, Jones Fight
Chiefs coach Todd Haley did not deny that there was a fight this week between first-round draft pick Jonathan Baldwin and veteran Thomas Jones, but he did not directly address the issue either.
Haley would not discuss the nature of the injury to the rookie receiver despite several direct questions about the incident.
Sources claim an incident between the two players resulted in Baldwin suffering a hand/wrist injury that could keep him out of the remainder of the preseason.
"Jonathan Baldwin did not play tonight due to injury," Haley said. "As I say in here a bunch, that's the extent of what I'm going to talk about it ...
"As with many things with our team that I come back to, we fall into injuries being in the family business category."
Charles Was Almost Traded To Redskins
The Redskins very nearly acquired running back Jamaal Charles from the Chiefs before he exploded onto the scene.
Charles was fourth on the depth chart when Todd Haley took over in Kansas City in 2009, so Washington called offering a fourth-round pick.
According to Redskins executive Vinny Cerrato, the Chiefs countered by asking for third-round pick.
The Redskins said no and talks fizzled.
Baldwin Hurts Hand In Fight
A locker-room fight between veteran Chiefs running back Thomas Jones and first-round draft pick Jonathan Baldwin has left the rookie doubtful for the rest of the preseason with a wrist injury, according to a source.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder averaged 18.31 yards per catch and finished ranked eighth all-time at Pitt with 2,325 yards receiving and 127 receptions.
