Green Trade Talks Move Slowly
Trent Green appears destined to remain with the Chiefs when the NFL meetings conclude today.
At the current pace of negotiations with potential trade partners Miami and Detroit, Green will be a Chief for quite some time.
Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson huddled briefly with his Detroit counterpart, Matt Millen, on Tuesday. The two agreed to continue the conversations later.
But Peterson has yet to speak in Arizona with Miami general manager Randy Mueller.
?He?s not been in the same meetings I?m in,? Peterson said. ?Matt is. I?m going to make a real point to get together with Mueller.?

Rams Add Free-Agent CB Walls
For the second time in two weeks, the Rams have added a veteran cornerback to compete for playing time in their nickel and dime coverage packages, reaching a one-year accord with unrestricted free agent Lenny Walls.

Contract Stalls Green Trade To Miami
A new contract for Trent Green is holding up a possible deal that would send the former Pro Bowl quarterback from Kansas City to the Miami Dolphins, sources said Wednesday.
The Dolphins, like the Chiefs, want Green to take a major pay cut from the $7.2, $7.7 and $9.2 million the 36-year-old veteran is due over the next three seasons, the final three years on his current contract. Miami doesn't want to pay Green, who will turn 37 in July, much more than the NFL veteran's minimum, which is $820,000 in 2007.
To acquire Green, the Dolphins likely would trade the second seventh-round draft pick they obtained from New England for receiver Wes Welker. But, sources said, the sticking point for the Green deal is money.
