Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club has agreed to terms of a three-year contract with QB Damon Huard. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreements were made available. ?Damon had an excellent year in 2006 and contributed directly to getting our team to the playoffs,? Peterson said. ?Damon is an excellent veteran player and an outstanding person. We?re delighted to have him under contract.?

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen has yet to be offered a long-term contract and has requested to be traded, according to a published report. Allen told the Kansas City Star on Saturday that he wanted to finish his career with the Chiefs, but the club hasn't offered the restricted free agent a contract. "I feel shocked and hurt." Allen told the Star. "Requesting a trade was probably the toughest thing I've had to do. It's nothing personal against the town of Kansas City and the fans. It's been great. [But] it doesn't look like my future is going to be there, and I have to accept that. That's why this is so hard. All the hard work I've put in, the blood, sweat and tears ? I wanted to finish my career there. I was led to believe I was going to."

Larry Johnson?s agent, Alvin Keels, wouldn?t discuss what Johnson is asking for. It?s reasonable to assume they are looking for something similar to the contract LaDainian Tomlinson signed with San Diego in 2004. Tomlinson?s deal guarantees him $21 million and is worth $60 million over eight seasons. About the same time, Washington?s Clinton Portis received an eight-year, $50 million contract.

The list of players who agreed to terms of two-year contracts include: S Robb Butler, FB Greg Hanoian, DT Brian Howard, G Rob Hunt, QB Omar Jacobs, TE Adam Johnson, DE Montez Murphy, CB Zach Norton, CB Dimitri Patterson, CB Justin Phinisee, LB Nick Reid, TE Keith Willis and LB Timi Wusu. As per club policy, no further terms of the agreements were announced.
