Hunt has battled cancer for several years and was hospitalized the day before Thanksgiving with a partially collapsed lung. Doctors discovered that the cancer has since spread, and Hunt has been under heavy sedation since last week.

The December 17th game in San Diego between the Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs has been move to NBC's nighttime slot. The move is part of the network's flexible scheduling under the new television contract with the NFL that's meant to ensure contending teams play in prime time late in the season.
