Jadeveon Clowney won't sign a long-term deal with the Houston Texans before Monday's deadline. No trade is in the works for Clowney either.

The Texans tagged Clowney as a linebacker rather than a defensive end. Despite being tagged as a linebacker, Clowney played most of his snaps at defensive end in 2018.

Clowney is expected to miss most, if not all, of training camp, as he still hasn't signed his franchise tender, which is worth $15.967 million for the 2019 season.

The Houston Texans will not hire a general manager for the 2019 season and will instead split up those responsibilities among four front office executives.

The Texans fired Brian Gaine on June 7th.

Matt Bazirgan, James Liipfert, Chris Olsen and Jack Easterby will run the front office for the Texans jointly.

The Texans previously attempted to hire Nick Caserio from the New England Patriots, but were on the receiving end of tampering charges.
