Texans Release Ryan Griffin Following Vandalism Incident In Nashville

May 18, 2019 8:32 AM

The Houston Texans have released Ryan Griffin.

Griffin is facing charges of vandalism and public intoxication for allegedly punching out a front window in a hotel last month in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Texans also selected tight end Kahale Warring out of San Diego State in the third round.

Police say Griffin, 29, was arrested for his own safety rather than given misdemeanor citations.

Griffin had 24 receptions for 305 yards last season with Houston and has 136 career receptions and seven touchdowns in six seasons.

J.J. Watt Wants To Continue Playing For As Long As Possible

May 7, 2019 3:26 PM

J.J. Watt has been limited by injuries since 2015, but he had a return to form in 2018.

Watt admits his injuries forced him to consider life after football, but he wants to extend his career for as long as possible.

“I don’t want to leave the game any time soon,” Watt said. “I love it. Hopefully, we can say that I had two less years of pounding on my body, I had two less years of wear and tear, so that means two more years on the back end.”

“I feel good right now. I’m excited about the season ahead. I’m excited about the team that we’ve got and the guys that we’ve got. I love it. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I get to go around and chase a ball for a living and they pay me to do it. I couldn’t be any luckier.”
