The Cleveland Browns have agreed to acquire Brock Osweiler from the Houston Texans.

Houston will send Osweiler, a second round pick and a sixth round pick to Cleveland for a fourth round pick.

The Browns will take on Osweiler's $16 million salary.

Cleveland also had interest in trading for Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason from the Patriots. Cleveland had over $100 million in cap space this offseason and in trading for Osweiler, they get someone to start this season while picking up an additional asset with the second round pick.

The Texans clear cap space with the deal as they pursue Tony Romo.

The Dallas Cowboys are now expected to trade Tony Romo to the Denver Broncos or Houston Texans rather than releasing him outright.

The Cowboys decided this week that they were going to part ways with Romo rather than keep him to backup Dak Prescott.

The Houston Texans and Ryan Griffin have mutual interest in a new contract.

No new deal is imminent as negotiations continue, according to sources.

Free agency opens on Thursday afternoon, at which point the market for Griffin is expected to develop.

The Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos are the three teams Tony Romo covets the most this offseason.

John Dorsey, however, has been adamant that Alex Smith will remain the Chiefs' starter in 2017.

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams have also been doing due diligence on Romo. 

Romo would like to join a playoff contender as Peyton Manning did with the Broncos.

The Houston Texans are not expected to use the franchise tag on A.J. Bouye, according to a source.

The Texans could still re-sign Bouye, 25, who would be one of the best free-agent cornerbacks available this offseason.

Bouye had 63 tackles, a sack, an interception and 16 passes defended during the regular season and had an interception in each of Houston's two playoff games.
