Matt LaFleur: I Don't Know What Pass Interference Is Anymore

Sep 27, 2019 9:28 AM

There were several pass interference reviews during Thursday night's Philadelphia Eagles-Green Bay Packers game.

Matt LaFleur challenged a play in the second half that saw Marquez Valdes-Scantling streaking down the field while being defended by Avonte Maddox. The cornerback initiated contact with the wideout before the ball arrived.

After review, the call stood and no flag was thrown.

"I really don't know what pass interference is anymore," LaFleur said. "I'll just leave it at that."

Davante Adams Has Turf Toe Injury

Sep 27, 2019 9:18 AM

Davante Adams suffered a turf toe injury in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's Green Bay Packers-Philadelphia Eagles game.

Adams was unable to put his right shoe on after the game and when asked if the toe was too swollen or too painful to put his shoe on, the receiver said, "I don't even want to try."

He totaled 10 catches for 180 yards, but missed the final 10 minutes of the game.

The Packers failed to score from the 1-yard line and 3-yard line on two drives without Adams.

"It sucks," Adams said. "You feel like in situations like that, you let the team down. Obviously I would've been out there if I could, but I'm in a little bit of pain, and it was tough. With a toe injury and the type of player I am -- what my game is based on is explosion and things like that, so if I can't get out there and really do my thing how I want and I'm in a lot of pain, I'm sure my teammates understand that.

"But it's tough, because I feel like those are the type of moments that I'm built for and I've been able to capitalize in bringing home a win -- or help bring home a win -- for my team in the past, so it sucks."

Aaron Rodgers: It's Time For Packers Offense To 'Do Our Part'

Sep 25, 2019 10:47 AM

The Green Bay Packers are 3-0 thanks in part to what appears to be an elite defense.

Beginning this Thursday, Aaron Rodgers wants to see the team's offense dominate as well. The Packers rank No. 28 in total offense.

"It's time for us to do our part on offense," Rodgers said. "Moving forward, we're going to play a stretch of really good football teams. At some point, we can't expect our defense to shut everybody down. They have been, but at some point the offense is going to have to wake up and start making some plays."

Rodgers has thrown for just 647 yards, the second-lowest total of his career through three games of a season. His 57 completions through three games rank as his lowest total to this point in a season since 2009.

Aaron Rodgers, Matt LaFleur Downplay 'Animated' Exchange

Sep 16, 2019 7:49 AM

Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur downplayed an "animated" sideline interaction during the Green Bay Packers' 21-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The exchange occurred when Rodgers came off the field after the final possession of the first half, a three-and-out that ended with a Rodgers throwaway on third-and-16.

"It was about the look on defense," the quarterback said. "I was actually kind of surprised that he was coming over to talk about that, but we got it all sorted out over there on the sideline. It actually wasn't a big deal. ... We're a little animated at times. I can't say we were yelling how much we love each other, but we definitely weren't MF-ing each other or anything. It was talking about the look there and getting on the same page."

Neither Rodgers nor LaFleur were surprised or seemed annoyed by the line of questioning -- a sign they had already moved on from the exchange.

"That's just two competitive guys, and I'm sure it's not going to be the last one we have," LaFleur said. "But you know, just competitors, heat of the moment and it is what it is. I would much rather have that than anything else because you want guys that are extreme competitors, and that's what he is."

Aaron Rodgers Might Wear Play Cheat Sheet On Wrist

Sep 13, 2019 8:49 PM

Aaron Rodgers might wear a playcalling cheat sheet on his wrist for the first time of his career on Sunday.

Rodgers experimented with one during practice on Friday to get Matt LaFleur's playcalling relayed more quickly.

The Green Bay Packers would like to increase their tempo.

"It gets [the play] out of my mouth a lot faster, I'll tell you that much," LaFleur said Friday. "So yeah, maybe it helps me get him the play a little bit quicker."

Aaron Rodgers Asks Fans Not To Do Wave When Packers Have Ball

Sep 12, 2019 9:12 AM

Aaron Rodgers wants Green Bay Packers fans to refrain from doing the wave when he's running the offense.

"My only ask is that we don't do the wave when we're on offense," Rodgers said ahead of the team's home opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers will play five of their next six games at home.
