Jordy Nelson Retires From NFL

Jordy Nelson will retire from the NFL after 10 seasons.

Nelson retires with 8,587 yards receiving and 72 touchdowns. Nelson's peak came in 2014 with 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Nelson spent the 2018 season with the Oakland Raiders after spending his entire career previously with the Green Bay Packers.

Bears-Packers To Kick Off NFL's 100th Season

The NFL will begin the 2019 season with the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers on the first Thursday of Week 1.

The NFL has typically led with the Super Bowl champion at home, but will begin its 100th season with a classic rivalry.

"As an organization, we are thrilled to be kicking off the 100th season of football in the NFL," Bears chairman George H. McCaskey said in a statement. "As a charter franchise, we cannot think of a better way to begin our centennial season than by hosting our longtime rival in prime time at Soldier Field."

The New England Patriots will play on Sunday Night Football at home with the Cleveland Browns a possible opponent.

Clay Matthews Agrees To Two-Year Deal With Rams

Clay Matthews has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams on a two-year contract. Matthews is coming off a five-year, $66 million contract with the Green Bay Packers at the age of 32.

Matthews registered only 3.5 sacks last season, the lowest single-season total of his career. 

Matthews will likely play some at inside linebacker this season despite primarily playing as an outside linebacker and edge rusher during his career.

Cobb was limited to nine games in 2018 due to a hamstring injury.

Cobb's best two seasons ame in 2014 and 2015.

Le'Veon Bell is expected to make a decision on his free agency on Tuesday.

The New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills are believed to be interested in Bell.

According to Pro Football Talk, however, the Colts are not pursuing Bell.

Bell sat out the entire 2018 season.

Packers Sign Za'Darius Smith, Adrian Amos

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign Za'Darius Smith and Adrian Amos.

Smith, 26, was the sacks leader for the Baltimore Ravens with a career-best 8.5 last season. Smith underwent sports hernia surgery following the season, but he is expected to be ready for offseason workouts in the spring.

Amos started all 16 games at safety for the Bears.

Patriots Attempted To Trade For Randall Cobb Last Season

The New England Patriots were active last season in trying to trade for a wide receiver.

The Patriots even attempted to trade for Randall Cobb at one point in the season.

Cobb finished the 2018 season with 38 catches for 383 yards over nine games as he dealt with a hamstring injury.

"I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility to think that the Patriots will still be in the market for a top-flight receiver," wrote Jay Glazer about New England's plans this offseason.
