The Green Bay Packers have hired Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator.

Hackett was most recently offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Green Bay Packers claimed that Aaron Rodgers would have no input in the search for a new coach, but that doesn't appear to have been the case.

During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Matt LaFleur admitted he got a phone call from Rodgers before he received a job offer from the Packers.

"That's kind of how I had an idea that maybe I was in the running for it," LaFleur said.

"The conversation went great," he continued. "I can tell he's a passionate guy, and he wants to win. And I think that holds true for me as well. So I think we're in alignment there because, like I said before, this game is about winning. I know that he wants to add to his legacy, and the only way we're going to accomplish that is to win a world championship."

The Green Bay Packers are expected to hire Matt LaFleur as their next head coach.

LaFleur spent last season as the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator and previously worked under Sean McVay for the Los Angeles Rams and Kyle Shanahan with the Atlanta Falcons.

A source said LaFleur would like to keep defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on board. 

The Packers zeroed in on LaFleur after interviewing 10 candidates.

The Green Bay Packers will interview Adam Gase for their head coaching vacancy.

Gase has also interviewed with the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets.

Gase was fired by the Miami Dolphins at the end of 2018.

The NFL has just two teams ranking in the top-10 in DVOA on both Offense and Defense at the end of the regular season in the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts.

The Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, Rams, Packers, Falcons, Patriots and Saints also rank in the top-10 on offense, while the Cowboys, Jaguars, Texans, Bears, Vikings, Broncos, Ravens and Bills are in the top-10 on defense.

The Chiefs rank first in the NFL in both Total DVOA and Weighted DVOA.
