Ted Thompson Has Full Confidence Of Packers' Management

Jul 13, 2017 2:28 PM

The Green Bay Packers have full confidence in Ted Thompson as their general manager.

Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy fully backed Thompson, 64, on Wednesday.

"Ted and I, we have a great relationship," Murphy said. "As long as he wants to continue to work, and he's still doing a good job -- and I think he still does a great job for us -- we want him to continue to be our general manager. At a point he decides he doesn't want to do it anymore for whatever reason, then we would do a search."

Thompson has headed the Green Bay front office for the past 12 years, but fans have critiqued him for largely ignoring free agency in favor of building through the draft.

Aaron Rodgers: I'm Starting Back Nine Of My Career

Jul 12, 2017 7:53 PM

Aaron Rodgers is entering his 13th NFL season after a masterful 40 touchdown-seven interception campaign in 2016.

Rodgers, who turns 34 in December, realizes that he's starting the downside of his career.

"I think I'm on the back nine of my career," Rodgers said. "But I think I'm just kind of starting the back nine. This will be my 10th year starting, I got to sit for three years. So I'm not the typical 13-year pro, having the opportunity to sit for three years and not take the wear and tear to learn the game."
