Packers' Letroy Guion Appealing Three-Game Suspension

Jul 23, 2015 12:10 PM

Letroy Guion has been suspended for the first three games of the regular season for his offseason arrest, but the Green Bay Packers defensive tackle is planning an appeal.

Guion was notified of the three-game ban this week and his agent and lawyers immediately began preparing their appeal.

The Packers and Guion have been bracing for a suspension ever since his February arrest for possession of marijuana and a firearm, but both sides were hoping he would be suspended for only a game or two after Guion paid a $5,000 fine in a plea deal to avoid prosecution.

The Packers re-signed Guion to a one-year, $2.75 million contract shortly after the case was settled in March.

Packers Don't Plan On Cutting Andrew Quarless

Jul 7, 2015 2:28 PM

The Green Bay Packers don't plan on cutting Andrew Quarless following his arrest for discharging a firearm in public.

According to an incident report obtained by NFL Media, officers responded to a call after two shots were fired in the 500th block of Lenox Avenue in Miami Beach, following an argument between two males and a group of women near a parking garage.

Quarless is subject to discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy and could be put on administrative leave or the Commissioner's Exempt List.

The tight end was set to battle with Richard Rodgers for the starting gig in Green Bay.

Brett Favre Not Attempting Comeback, Believes He Can Still Play In NFL

Jul 2, 2015 12:54 PM

Brett Favre is not preparing an NFL comeback at the age of 45, but he does believe he can still play.

Favre finished his career with the Minnesota Vikings after a storied career with the Green Bay Packers and one season with the New York Jets.

"I think I could play," told Sports Illustrated for an upcoming cover story. "As far as throwing. Of course, we're not trying to start some he's-coming-out-of-retirement deal. Do I think I could play and lead a team? Look, no. But I could play. I could make all the throws I made before, I just couldn't throw it near as far, but that never matters anyway."
