Packers To Keep 3-4 Base Defense

Sep 2, 2014 6:09 AM

The Green Bay Packers will keep their base defense as 3-4 after there was speculation that they would switch to a 4-3.

"We were not as multiple maybe (last) year as we've been in prior years really because of the stress of injuries on that unit so we want to get back to some of the things that we did very well in the past and make sure we're carrying enough packages to utilize all of our players," Mike McCarthy explained, per ESPN.com.

Dom Capers has been running the 3-4 defense for more than two decade and the best defensive players on the Packers are ideally suited for the scheme.

Finley Wants To Finish Career With Packers, Has Suitor In Giants

Oct 6, 2014 9:44 PM

Jermichael Finley wants to finish his career with the Green Bay Packers, but may already have a suitor in the New York Giants.

"Right now he is a Packer and I know he would love to play his entire career there," Finley's agent, Blake Baratz, told the New York Post. "For the next five weeks or so they have his exclusive negotiation rights. If it doesn't work out in Green Bay for whatever reason then I believe there are a number of teams that could use a talent like Jermichael."

"He said he would love to be a part of the Giants," said safety Antrel Rolle.
