Desmond Bishop Receives Interest From Giants, Jags, Vikings, Chiefs

Oct 31, 2014 5:06 AM

The New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs are interested in signing Demond Bishop.

Bishop was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday.

“The Giants and Jacksonville are the next two that are interested,’’ Bishop said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Actually, the Niners called but of course, you know, they’re kind of set over there. I appreciate their interest in me regardless. But the Giants, which is a real good situation, and Jacksonville as well.”

Driver Open To Returning To Packers In-Season

Nov 4, 2014 1:38 PM

Donald Driver said that he has received calls from several teams interested in signing him for 2013.

Driver, however, would only return if it is with the Green Bay Packers.

"If the Packers called me and said, 'Drive, come back to training camp,' I'd be back for training camp," Driver explained. "But until then, I'll be sitting at home and just watching football."

Driver would also be open to an in-season return if the Packers have an injury issue at wide receiver.

Packers Making Mason Crosby Compete For Job

Jul 29, 2014 11:37 PM

The Green Bay Packers are forcing Mason Crosby to compete for his job after a career-worst season in 2012.

Giorgio Tavecchio is a first-year kicker out of Cal and is a native of Italy.

Crosby had a 63.6 conversion rate in 2012.

"I want him to compete," Mike McCarthy said. "There's no doubt about it. Last year's performance definitely warrants competition. ... Let's be honest. Mason has to perform at a whole other level than he did last year. I believe he will. But this is what he needs. He needs competition just like all of us. Competition brings out the best of us, and I'm looking for him to make the most of it."

Rodgers Hopes To Finish Career With More Rings Than Starr

Aug 6, 2014 4:50 AM

NFL quarterbacks, like NBA superstars, are frequently judged by how many Super Bowls they win in their career.

Aaron Rodgers wants to finish career with more rings than any other quarterback in the history of the Green Bay Packers.

"Bart (Starr) has two Super Bowl rings. Brett (Favre) has one. And I have one. I'd like, when I'm done, to have the most rings. I don't know if it's possible to get as many championships as Bart has, but maybe I can equal him in rings."

Starr led the Packers to three championships before the Super Bowl era began.

Randall Cobb Could Become 100-Catch Receiver

Dec 7, 2014 1:41 AM

Aaron Rodgers is bullish on the type of season Randall Cobb can have for the Green Bay Packers in 2013.

"He cares about it a lot," said Rodgers of Cobb. "He puts a lot of extra time in. He watches a ton of film. He spent an off-season watching various slot guys that he admired and tried to pick things up. He's very well-coached. I think Edgar Bennett deserves a lot of credit. Here's a guy who's a Packer Hall of Fame running back who's coaching receivers and doing a heck of a job. So that helps. He stays on those guys about ball security and detailed routes. That helps. But Randall sees the game through the eyes of a quarterback because he was a quarterback. So he understands timing and spacing and when he has to get out of his breaks. He's an excellent — just like Jordy is — an excellent second reaction guy. When I have to come out of the pocket, where in the past you might have seen some of the balls go to Greg and Jordy, Randall caught more than anybody last year because he was healthy and he also has really good reactions."

With Greg Jennings departed, Cobb figures to be one of Rodgers' primary receivers.

"I think he can be a 100-catch guy. We haven't had that here in a while. But I think he can. I think he's a special player. As long as he can stay healthy, I think he's going to be a big-time star for us."
