Aaron Rodgers Will Start For Packers In Week 17

Dec 11, 2014 6:30 AM

Aaron Rodgers took first team reps in the Green Bay Packers' practice on Thursday and was named the starter by Mike McCarthy.

Rodgers hasn't played since suffering a fractured collarbone in November.

The Packers have a play-in game on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

The reps taken by Rodgers were in individual drills as the media didn't see 11-on-11 work.

“Any football player that plays Sunday will have risk," said McCarthy. "We’ve done our due diligence. We feel it’s time for Aaron to play”

Ted Thompson Making Final Call On Rodgers' Status

Oct 31, 2014 3:00 PM

Ted Thompson has final say on whether Aaron Rodgers plays in Week 16 as he recovers from a broken collarbone.

Thompson is general manager of the Green Bay Packers, a franchise that doesn't have a formal owner since they are publicly owned.

The situation with Rodgers shows how not having a singular owner or ownership group makes decisions more difficult.

Aaron Rodgers Expected To Sit Again In Week 16

Jul 28, 2014 8:53 PM

Aaron Rodgers is not expected to play in Week 16 for the Green Bay Packers as he continues to recover from a broken collarbone.

"I don't see them clearing him unless something significantly changes with the doctor," the source said.

Matt Flynn would start at quarterback in his place.

The Packers are a half-game behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.

Aaron Rodgers Remains Pessimistic About Chances Of Being Cleared

Jul 10, 2014 5:10 PM

Aaron Rodgers plans to practice on Wednesday but isn't optimistic that his next scan will reveal significant changes to the status of his injured collarbone.

"I think you can probably guess," Rodgers said on his weekly ESPN radio show. "I have an idea what it's going to look like based on the previous one, the amount of days we have between scans, project that forward to a similar amount of days and have a pretty good idea and provide over-radiation."

Matt Flynn is expected to see the bulk of reps at start in practice.

"My hope," Rodgers said, "is that I practice tomorrow and experience no setbacks, mentally or physically, and then we'll go from there."

Randall Cobb Still Not Cleared To Run

Sep 17, 2014 4:39 PM

Randall Cobb still hasn't been cleared to run as he comes back from a fractured leg.

“I thought I was going to be cleared to run two weeks ago, and I still haven’t been,” Cobb said in the Green Bay Packers’ locker room Friday.

“I got to see Randall a little bit, some of his workout today,” Mike McCarthy said after practice Friday. “Obviously, he’s not ready this week, and Tuesday will be a big day because that’s kind of the week we’ve always looked at for his availability. So we’ll see how that sorts out on Tuesday.”
