Jenkins Likely To Leave Packers

Sep 9, 2014 7:40 AM

The Green Bay Press-Gazette writes that defensive end Cullen Jenkins is likely to leave the team once free agency begins. Jenkins, 30, would command too much money, especially since Green Bay has standout free agents like tight end Jermichael Finley, receiver Greg Jennings and quarterback Aaron Rodgers in line for contracts soon. The Press-Gazette writes that Jenkins should draw major interest as an inside pass rusher and might fetch $15 million to $20 million in guaranteed money on the open market.

Packers Receive Super Bowl Rings

Dec 12, 2014 4:25 PM

The Packers received their Super Bowl rings in a private ceremony at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. The ring was even heavier than veteran defender Charles Woodson expected. "I feel like it's my right to wear this ring," Woodson said. "I feel like I worked very hard playing this game. I feel like every time I go out on that field, I leave it all out there on the field. That's the way I've always played this game. I feel like I deserve to win a championship, I feel like it's my rightful place in history to be a Super Bowl champion." Contact between players and teams generally is prohibited during the ongoing NFL lockout, but the Packers received special permission from the NFL to hold the ceremony.

May 2, 2014 3:04 PM

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been working with a band called The Make from his hometown of Chico and getting his new record label, Suspended Sunrise Recordings, up and running during the lockout, according to television station KRCR. "This is the first step in the process," said Rodgers. "My business partner and I have been working for a couple of years trying to put this whole thing together. We're excited about starting the process, to see what happens with this band. Obviously football is my first priority, music is my passion after that."

Jennings Likes 'Individual Training' Better

Sep 9, 2014 7:40 AM

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings admits that he prefers training on his own as opposed to team activities during the lockout. "I personally like the individual training a little bit better, but when it comes to team building and things like that, you have to have the team functions," Jennings said. "Without that, you can't grow as a team. You can try to get better individually when you're doing your own individual thing because your workouts are customized to help you get better. But as a team, what we do as a team is pretty much customized to help the team grow in the direction we need it to grow. It definitely hurts to not have contact with the coaches and things like that and be able to get together. Up in Green Bay, we all have the one common place to stay and get work done."

Aaron Rodgers Throws Out First Pitch At Miller Park

Aug 4, 2014 5:39 AM

Aaron Rodgers plans to talk to teammate Charles Woodson on Friday at a charity event about preparing offseason workouts for the Packers while the lockout closes in on a third month. "We're going to put something together here because it looks like it's going to go a little bit longer, so it's going to be important for us to get together," Rodgers told Fox Sports Wisconsin on Thursday night. He was in Milwaukee to throw out the first pitch at Miller Park before the Brewers took on the Mets. He wore a No. 12 Brewers jersey and tossed a perfect pitch to good friend Ryan Braun.

Driver: Packers Still Not Planning Workouts

Sep 12, 2014 9:19 PM

The Packers are still not planning any player-led workouts, according to wide receiver Donald Driver. Driver said there are no formal plans for player workouts and that he and his teammates are still enjoying the feeling of being champions. "We're just enjoying the atmosphere of winning the Super Bowl. We haven't had the opportunity just to celebrate like we want to," he said. Driver said although Packers players have talked about getting together for workouts, members of the team are "working out individually."

Donald Driver Aiming For Canton

Jul 17, 2014 8:23 PM

With a Super Bowl victory in February, Packers wide receiver Donald Driver now has his sights on a personal record and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "James Lofton's records," Driver said. "And I want to make sure that I put a nice little stamp on my legacy. My thing is, is that (there's) some great guys that wore this number before me. I think if I can get a nice little stamp on this legacy, continue to put some stats up there ... And that's just to make sure that no one ever breaks my records. That's what James wanted. That's what Sterling (Sharpe) wanted. Records are meant to be broken, and I want mine to never be broken. "If I can play two to three more years and put a nice little stamp on it, those records will stand there forever, and when it's all said and done, maybe one day I can stand up here in Canton, Ohio, saying, 'I made it.'" Lofton holds the Packers record for most career receiving yards with 9,656, but Driver is just 40 yards shy and virtually certain to eclipse that mark whenever the next NFL season begins. He has 53 career touchdown receptions, No. 4 on the list, and could catch No. 2 Sterling Sharpe (65) before his career ends.
