Packers Raise Ticket Prices For 2011
The Packers are raising ticket prices for the 2011 season.
Season ticket holders are being notified that tickets between the 20-yard-lines will increase from $83 to $87. Other sideline seats will go up $3 from $73 to $76 and end zone seats will be raised $2 from $67 to $69.
Suite tickets will also increase $4 to $87.
Favre Wants To 'Bury The Hatchet' With Rodgers
According to an anonymous member of the Packers, Brett Favre wants to find a way to reach out to Super Bowl-winning quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
"This is one of those situations where Brett can't win," the player said. "If he calls Aaron it looks like he's grandstanding. If he doesn't, he seems like he's selfish and inconsiderate.
"I can tell you Brett wants to speak to Aaron. He really does and it's sincere. I don't know if they've spoken yet. I just know Brett wants to bury the hatchet."
Rodgers reportedly hasn't forgotten how Favre treated him for three years in Green Bay.
"No question. The big issue is will Aaron want to take the call. That I don't know. The bitterness remains deep."
McCarthy, Packers Near Three-Year Extension
The Packers and coach Mike McCarthy are closing in on a three-year contract extension that would keep him with the team through the 2015 season.
The deal will pay McCarthy about $5 million annually, approximately a $1 million bump from his 2010 salary, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
It's believed the extension will make the 47-year-old among the 10 highest-paid coaches in the NFL.
Cowboys Hire Packers WR Coach
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett has hired Packers wide receivers coach Jimmy Robinson as assistant head coach/wide receivers coach on Friday, less than a week after the Packers won Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium.
Robinson, who has been in the NFL since 1990, replaces Ray Sherman. Sherman coached the Cowboys' wide receivers from 2007-10.
Garrett and Robinson were together with the New York Giants in 2000-03, when Garrett was the backup quarterback and Robinson was the wide receivers coach.
Packers Extend Thompson's Contract
The Packers have signed general manager Ted Thompson to a multiyear extension.
Thompson, 58, took over as general manager in 2005. The Packers beat the Steelers 31-25 on Sunday to win the Super Bowl, just the second time a No. 6 seed has accomplished the feat.
"This is a great organization and I am very humbled and appreciative," Thompson said in a statement. "Green Bay is a special place and I am honored to work with such a great group of people that have all contributed to our success."

Nevada sports books hung on to win just over $724,000 from Super Bowl XLV bets despite heavy gambling on the Packers and lots of scoring.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board said Tuesday that $87.5 million were wagered on the NFL's championship game in 183 sports books across the state.
The Packers were a 2?-point favorite in most Las Vegas casinos, giving their supporters a win with the six-point victory.
