Finley Hasn't Forgotten Hit From Delmas

Sep 10, 2014 9:49 PM

Jermichael Finley has forgotten about the hit he received last season from Lions safety Louis Delmas. "Last year he got that cheap shot in," Finley said Thursday. "Like me and my position coach (Ben McAdoo) always say, 'It's a game of football,' so he probably will be getting dialed up. That's just the game of football, though. "We see them twice a year, so it will be hard for me to back up off of him. It will be one of those games." Delmas hit a defenseless Finley square in the chest to knock the wind out of him in the second quarter of the Thanksgiving matchup. Delmas further drew the ire of the Packers, including quarterback Aaron Rodgers, when Delmas celebrated the late hit. "That the ball was already over my head and dang near hitting the ground," Finely said. "A play like that, that can injure somebody or hurt a career. That's not a good thing for me. "The taunting thing, that's not cool at all. We'll be going after him, without a doubt."

Bears Focused On Containing Clay Matthews

Sep 12, 2014 5:29 PM

The Bears are going into their Monday night game against the Packers focusing on Clay Matthews, who has been dominant in the first two weeks. ?We?re still figuring that out,? coach Lovie Smith said Thursday. ?The two teams before, I guess you could say they never really did [contain Matthews], you know, with three sacks in both of those games. ?He?s a good football player, you start off with that. We?ll know where he is. Our guys realize who he is also. We?ll have a plan to hopefully keep him away from Jay [Cutler] most of the time.?

Clifton May Get One Last Shot To Keep Green Bay's LT Job From Bulaga

The combination of strong play from first round pick Bryan Bulaga and the health concerns of Chad Clifton may send the rookie to left tackle for the remainder of the season. Coach Mike McCarthy pulled Clifton halfway through the second quarter last week against Buffalo because the 34-year-old?s sore knee prevented him from the doing the job. The starting job at left tackle could be riding on Bulaga?s performance this week against Chicago, assuming he plays.
