Will Bush Return For Saints On MNF?
Reggie Bush returned to the practice field on Saturday, but his status for the Saints' game against the Packers on Monday night is still in question.
Bush was, however, limited in practice just 48 hours before the Monday night battle.
New Orleans coach Sean Payton said Saturday that he was optimistic about Bush's possible return.
"It's been tough, just being out in general," Bush said. "Obviously I wish the progress was a little faster, but you can't rush Mother Nature."
Vikings' Allen Fined $25K For Hit On Rodgers
Minnesota defense end Jared Allen has been fined $25,000 for his hit on Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Nov. 9.
Moments after Rodgers released the ball, Allen hit him high and knocked him down, drawing a roughing-the-passer penalty.
Allen was fined $50,000 for two low hits in Week 9 on Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, who could miss the rest of the season as a result of the hits.
"We play a violent sport. We know that and we willingly sign up for it," Allen said earlier this season. "We don't ever purposely go out to hurt anybody, ever."
Jennings: This Is The Packers You're Going To Get From Here On Out
The Packers destroy the Bears by a final score of 37-3 on Sunday in Green Bay. Chicago had won the previous four meetings between these two teams at Lambeau Field.
"This is the Green Bay Packers team you're going to get every week from here on out," wide receiver Greg Jennings said following the win. "We're excited about what we're going to do right now. We're putting this on ourselves to get it done and turn it around, because we know we're the defending NFC North champs.
"We need to play like it. Today, we played like it."
Green Bay LB Barnett Out For Season
Packers' linebacker Nick Barnett will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Barnett tore a right knee ligament in Sunday's game against Minnesota.
"We've lost Nick Barnett for the season because of a ligament tear in his knee," McCarthy said. "So, we just got the word here about a half-hour ago. He's very disappointed. It's unfortunate, but we need the other guys to step up."
Packers Successful With Debut Of 'Big Five' Formation
The Packers unveiled their "Big Five" five-receiver set for the first time this season, using it six times and getting four completions for 51 yards out of it in Sunday's loss at Minnesota.
Packers Waive Gbaja-Biamila
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, who has the most sacks in Green Bay history with 74 1/2, has been released by the team.
Gbaja-Biamila had the team's highest cap number at $7.72 million.
"We want to thank Kabeer for his contributions to the Green Bay Packers," Packers' GM Ted Thompson said in a statement. "During his time here, he has been a big part of our organization and our community. We wish Kabeer and his family well."
