Green Bay Goes 4-0, Favre Breaks All-Time Touchdown Record

Oct 2, 2014 2:05 AM

Brett Favre was as good as ever, becoming the NFL's all-time leader in career touchdown passes with a couple of vintage third-down zingers to help Green Bay stay unbeaten. Favre was the obvious difference in Sunday's 23-16 victory by the Packers, who hung on against the pass-deficient Minnesota Vikings. He threw No. 421 in the first quarter to Greg Jennings, No. 422 in the fourth quarter to James Jones and went interception-free against a defense determined to make him the league's all-time leader in that category, too. Favre is three picked-off passes away from overtaking George Blanda on the career list.

Morency To Make Season Debut For Packers

Oct 6, 2014 11:25 PM

Vernand Morency is eager to make his belated season debut at running back Sunday for the Green Bay Packers. "I'm just glad that Vernand feels good," coach Mike McCarthy said after practice Friday. Morency's return from a knee injury that sidelined him for the preseason and first three regular-season games could help the league's worst rushing offense. The 3-0 Packers also might be without rookie Brandon Jackson when they play at division rival Minnesota. Jackson, who has been the starter with Morency sidelined, didn't practice for the second straight day because of a strained shin.

Packers Improve To 3-0, Favre Ties Marino's TD Mark

Oct 31, 2014 4:25 PM

Brett Favre's 420th career touchdown pass meant more than just drawing even with Dan Marino. The 57-yard completion to Greg Jennings, with just over two minutes remaining, tied Marino's all-time NFL record for career TD passes and rallied the Packers past the San Diego Chargers on their way to a 31-24 victory. Favre's 38th career fourth-quarter comeback came one series after the Chargers defense stopped Favre and the undefeated Packers (3-0) cold on fourth-and-goal.

Favre Says He Could Play A Couple More Years

Jul 11, 2014 2:16 PM

In a national conference call Wednesday, Brett Favre was asked whether the success of the Packers this season would affect his decision to play on for a couple more years. In no uncertain terms, he said yes. "If I play at a high enough level and we, meaning this team and organization, come close or get into the playoffs, have some success, but are just a little bit away, they still feel like I can play, want to pay me what they're paying me to lead this team, and I still felt like I have it left, yes, I see no reasons why (not)," Favre said.

Favre Now Winningest QB In NFL History

Oct 31, 2014 4:39 AM

Brett Favre didn't need a rocket arm to become the winningest quarterback in NFL history on Sunday. His 17 years of football knowledge and a near-perfect second half against a bad defense were plenty. Favre completed his first 14 second-half passes and threw three touchdown passes to rally the Packers to a 35-13 victory over the Giants' porous defense.
