Favre Throws Historical Pass In Packer's Win

Sep 29, 2014 8:03 PM

Brett Favre sprinted toward the end zone, signaled touchdown and then pumped his right fist. The 36-year-old quarterback had just become the second player in NFL history to throw 400 career touchdown passes. He added two more scores to lead the Packers to a 31-24 win over the Lions on Sunday for their first victory of the season.

Farve: Midseason Trade To Contender Not Likely

Sep 29, 2014 7:34 AM

After losing two home games to start the season, Brett Favre can understand why people might think he would welcome a trade to a contender. But Favre, who turns 37 next month, doesn't necessarily think that would be any better than sticking it out for the rest of the year -- and perhaps beyond -- in Green Bay.

Packers Sign Koren Robinson

Sep 29, 2014 7:32 AM

The Green Bay Packers agreed to terms with wide receiver Koren Robinson, who was recently cut by the Minnesota Vikings after being charged with drunken driving. The Packers gave Robinson a two-year deal one day after they were shut out for the first time since 1991 in their season opener against Chicago on Sunday, but general manager Ted Thompson said the team wasn't making a desperation move. "No," Thompson said Monday. "We've been thinking about this for some time."

Favre Shut Out For First Time, Peyton Wins, Week #1 NFL Highlights

May 17, 2014 11:10 PM

Brett Favre was shut out for the first time in his NFL career. Linebacker Ray Lewis would like to make shutouts a habit again for his team. In 221 straight starts for the Green Bay Packers, Favre had never failed to lead at least one scoring drive. Until Sunday. It figured that the Chicago Bears would be the team to slap a 26-0 defeat on Favre and the Packers, spoiling the coaching debut of Mike McCarthy.

Former Packers running back Najeh Davenport signed with the Steelers on Friday. Davenport, who has rushed for 1,068 yards in 39 NFL games, missed most of last season after breaking an ankle Oct. 9 against New Orleans. The 6-foot-1, 247-pounder was released last weekend by Green Bay. Davenport is expected to give the Steelers a power running back in the mold of the retired Jerome Bettis.

Farve '99.9 Percent' Sure He Will Retire A Packer

Sep 27, 2014 3:43 PM

Although Brett Favre says he's "99.9 percent" sure he'll retire as a Green Bay Packer, he can't rule out the possibility he might finish his career with another team. But before Cheesehead Nation begins trembling at the thought of seeing Favre in some shade of teal -- or, worse yet, wearing Vikings horns -- note that the 36-year-old said he'd only consider playing elsewhere if the Packers decided they wanted to rebuild without him.

Packers Bring In Koren Robinson For A Visit

Nov 12, 2014 3:19 AM

According to an NFL source, the Packers registered Koren Robinson's visit with the NFL, which they are required to do so that all the other teams in the league are aware of it. The degree of interest the Packers have in Robinson is unknown, but because the former Seattle and Minnesota receiver has not been suspended yet he is free to talk to teams. The Packers did not put him through a workout.

Favre Open To Leave Green Bay

Sep 29, 2014 7:34 AM

In an interview with Bob Costas to be aired Wednesday night on HBO's "Costas Now," Brett Favre says he would consider playing for another team, presumably after this season, if the Packers approved. Costas tells Favre many "great players in every sport" have finished their careers with teams other than the ones they helped make successful. What if there were a 9-7 team "and they need a guy for a year or two (to) make a Super Bowl run," Costas posed. "I can't say it wouldn't happen," Favre said. "If it comes to a point where they do start over and I feel like I can play and they say, 'Brett, if you want to go somewhere else, go ahead, but we've got to start over. It's time for us to rebuild. It just doesn't make sense, so do what you want.' If I got the itch at some point, I can't say 'no.' "
