The Green Bay Packers signed non-drafted free agent Steve Fleming on Friday. As a tight end, Fleming caught 23 passes in his senior year with the Arizona Wildcats in 2004. The 6-foot-6 262-pound Fleming spent one week earlier this spring with the New York Giants.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Bret Favre has indicated that he may be able to play past 2005 after being serenaded by chants of ?five more years? at a charity softball game that saw a recorded 8,500 fans in attendance. "I hope off the field, within my family, that things go smoothly and I'm able to enjoy it a little bit more and my family is able to enjoy it. If that's the case, maybe I will be back," Favre said. Favre has been hinting at retirement for several seasons now. He won a Super Bowl in 1997 when the Packers defeated the New England Patriots.

The Green Bay Packers have yet another player abstaining from their seven-day minicamp. Defensive tackle Cletidus Hunt is nowhere to be found making his absence unexcused. "It's not a mandatory camp, but we expect him to be here. He should have been here, and he wasn't here. So, that's disappointing," coach Mike Sherman said. "It's fairly discouraging. You expect more out of people. So, to say it's discouraging is probably an understatement. ... This is a surprise to me."
