Emmanuel Sanders 'Not Trying To Break The Bank' In Contract Talks

Jul 29, 2016 3:59 PM

Emmanuel Sanders, who appears to be the next player on the verge of a contract extension with the Denver Broncos, says he isn't shooting for the stars.

"It's not frustrating. It's actually a blessing," Sanders said of the ongoing talks. "We're talking millions and millions of dollars that I can earn just by the game that I love. At the end of the day, I'm looking forward to it, but I know you guys want to know the answers to that, where are we at.

"We're trying to find that middle ground of saying, you know what, this is a fair deal for me and for the Denver Broncos. I said it from Day One -- I'm not trying to break the bank. I want to be here. But I also want a fair deal, and I want a fair deal for the production I've been putting out, so we'll see how it goes."

Sanders is entering the final year of the deal he signed in 2014, and is scheduled to make $5.6 million this season.

Broncos QBs Will Get Equal Reps As Camp Begins

Jul 28, 2016 8:21 AM

John Elway has declared the quarterback competition "wide open" as the Denver Broncos open training camp.

Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch each will get an equal amount of playing time as camp gets underway, according to Gary Kubiak.

"The bottom line is, we're going to give them equal reps and it's an open competition," Kubiak said. "We've got a plan ... so we'll get an equal look at all of them."

Paxton Lynch Believes He Could Start For Broncos Right Away

Jul 27, 2016 7:24 AM

Paxton Lynch believes he can compete to start for the Denver Broncos during training camp over the next month.

When Denver's offseason program ended, Gary Kubiak said Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian were "neck-and-neck" in the battle to be the starting quarterback.

"I definitely think I have the opportunity to better myself and put myself up in that position to play right away or sooner than I had thought," Lynch said. "I knew those guys were going to be ahead of me just because of experience -- Trevor his experience in the offense and Mark his experience in the league and me being a rookie, and this is the first time I've seen a playbook like that."

Gary Kubiak Indicating Mark Sanchez Will Start For Broncos

Jul 21, 2016 9:24 PM

Gary Kubiak has been indicating to players that Mark Sanchez will start at quarterback for the Denver Broncos this coming season, according to Sylvester Williams.

The defensive tackle expects Sanchez to start over Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch.

"Right now, they're giving all three of those guys equal reps, so I don't think either one of them has created any advantage at this point, because they haven't consistently been with the ones yet," Williams told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "But I think, going into the camp, I think coach Kubiak kind of let us know he's going to go with Mark and give Mark the opportunity to see what he can do and then go on from there."

Broncos coaches have talked up the untested Siemian as having a "legitimate shot" to start, while general manager John Elway said in May that Lynch will be "ready quicker than a lot of people think."

Broncos Extend Offer To Von Miller To Include $70M Guaranteed

Jul 15, 2016 2:19 PM

The Denver Broncos have offered Von Miller a record $70 million guaranteed as part of a six-year, $114.5 million deal, according to a source.

The contract would make Miller the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history based on guaranteed money as well as the highest-paid player in Denver franchise history.

A source familiar with the talks said Thursday night that he was "optimistic'' the deal will get done by the 4 p.m. ET Friday deadline for designated franchise players to sign long-term deals.

Two executives from teams other than the Broncos said Thursday that Miller "would have to take it."

Emmanuel Sanders Adds 10 Pounds Of Muscle

Jul 12, 2016 8:19 AM

Emmanuel Sanders, who is entering the final season of a three-year contract with the Denver Broncos, has added 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.

He remains hopeful of reaching a long-term deal with the Broncos, who are currently focused on Von Miller's contract situation.

"Right now they are taking care of Von's situation, which they should," Sanders said. "Supposedly an article came out saying they are holding contract talks with us right now. I don't know anything. I told my agent, 'Don't get me involved unless there's something major.' I just sit back, work out and the rest will take care of itself."

Sanders has prepared himself for the coming season by not only working on adding muscle, but also polishing his route-running. He will work out with quarterback Mark Sanchez and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas this week at Southern California.

Von Miller, Broncos Exchange Contract Proposals

Jul 10, 2016 4:40 PM

Von Miller and the Denver Broncos continue to exchange contract proposal ahead of the July 15th deadline.

NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reported on Friday that Miller rejected the Broncos' latest proposal. The two sides are expected to continue negotiations through the weekend.

"They moved up the date for some of that non-guaranteed money, non-fully guaranteed money at signing to become fully guaranteed," Garafolo said on Friday's edition of NFL Total Access. "But that sweetening of the pot is not sweet enough for Von Miller."

The structure of the guaranteed portion of the contract continues to be the hold up on getting a deal done.
