Broncos Trade Up To Draft Paxton Lynch

Apr 30, 2016 9:58 AM

The Denver Broncos traded up to the No. 26 pick on Thursday night to draft Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch.

Denver had the No. 31 pick, but worked a deal with the Seattle Seahawks. John Elway admitted that drafting Lynch means the team's pursuit of Colin Kaepernick is "probably over."

The Broncos traded the 31st pick and a third-round selection (94th) to the Seahawks for the 26th pick.

"It was obviously the greatest feeling," Lynch said. "This was a dream come true for me. The Denver Bronco organization is obviously one of the best in the league."

John Elway: Colin Kaepernick Trade Talks Currently 'Dormant'

Apr 23, 2016 10:46 AM

John Elway says trade talks between the Denver Broncos and San francisco 49ers on Colin Kaepernick are "dormant."

Elway and Kaepernick met twice last month after the 49ers granted Kaepernick's request to pursue a trade. Unwilling to accept a revised contract offer from the Broncos, Kaepernick reported April 4 for the start of the 49ers offseason program.

"He's been working out from what I understand. That's all I'm going to say," Elway said in Denver at a pre-draft media session.

The Houston Texans have released Brian Hoyer.

The Texans did not receive any trade offers for Hoyer and cutting him saves the franchise the risk of owing him $4 million if he's injured.

The Denver Broncos and New York Jets could have interest in Hoyer.

The Jets and Ryan Fitzpatrick remain at a contract impasse.

Von Miller To Skip Offseason Program

Apr 16, 2016 3:50 PM

Von Miller will not attend the Denver Broncos' offseason program on Monday.

Miller has yet to sign his franchise tender so he's not under contract. Miller is also completing in Dancing With The Stars.

The Broncos placed the exclusive franchise tag tender on the outside linebacker, worth $14.129 million for the 2016 season. The tag is worth less than what Miller would receive on the open market.

The Broncos latest offer is around $18 million per year.

The Broncos have until July 15 to strike a long-term contract with Miller.

"I'm living out here with my guy, Von Miller. Everybody knows Von Miller. Super Bowl MVP, Von Miller, my brother. I'm living with him right now," Manziel told TMZ on Saturday night. "We're getting our lives together, bro."

Manziel's comments came in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles.

"So I'm just going to follow those guys and have those guys take the lead."
