Wade Phillips Taken To Hospital After Scary Hit

Oct 31, 2016 7:50 AM

Wade Phillips was released from a Denver-area hospital Sunday night after the Broncos defensive coordinator was taken from the sideline on a backboard during the team's 27-19 win over the San Diego Chargers.

Phillips was knocked to the ground during cornerback Bradley Roby's interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter. He was strapped to a backboard following the play as a precaution and taken to a local hospital.

"Everything I've heard is he's great," Gary Kubiak said. "He's fine, he's upbeat, he watched the end of the game. We've been in contact with Lori, his wife. He talked to me before he left the field."

C.J. Anderson Placed On IR, Likely Out For 2016

Oct 28, 2016 5:27 PM

The Denver Broncos have placed C.J. Anderson on injured reserve, which will likely end his season.

With Anderson on injured reserve, he has to be out for at least six weeks before he can return to practice and has to be out for a minimum of eight weeks before he can play in a game. The Broncos only have nine regular-season games remaining.

Anderson had a minor arthroscopic procedure to repair the meniscus in his right knee Thursday.

C.J. Anderson To Undergo Surgery On Right Knee

Oct 29, 2016 10:06 AM

C.J. Anderson will undergo surgery to determine the extent of damage to the meniscus in his right knee.

Anderson is out indefinitely.

Whether Anderson has a full or partial tear in the meniscus will be determined during the arthroscopic procedure, and a repair could be made. A full tear would almost surely end his season, and a partial tear could mean a four- or five-week absence.

Anderson suffered the injury during an 11-yard run on the last play of the first quarter of the Broncos' 27-9 victory over the Houston Texans Monday night.

C.J. Anderson To Have Knee Evaluated, Will Miss Time

Oct 27, 2016 8:47 PM

C.J. Anderson missed practice on Wednesday to have his right knee evaluated to determine how much time the Denver Broncos running back will miss.

Anderson's right knee buckled slightly during an 11-yard run on the last play of the first quarter on Monday night.

"He came in really sore [Tuesday]," Gary Kubiak said. "So we're trying to evaluate exactly where he's at right now."

"Basically we're getting a second opinion,'' Kubiak added. "We hope to know some time [Thursday] afternoon."

Anderson has 437 yards rushing this season to go with four rushing touchdowns.

Brock Osweiler 'Not Surprised' By Boos In Denver

Oct 25, 2016 7:59 AM

Brock Osweiler, who was booed by fans in Denver each time he came onto the field Monday night, said he was not surprised by the crowd's reactions to his return.

Osweiler was playing in Denver for the first time since leaving to sign a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans during the offseason.

"I was definitely not surprised by that," Osweiler said. "I assumed I'd get a lot of boos. In fact, I thought it would be a little bit louder with those boos."

Osweiler finished 22-for-41 for 131 yards without a touchdown in the loss. He also lost a fumble in Houston's 27-9 loss.

"I think there was so much that was built up about myself and the Broncos in this game," Osweiler said. "And at the end of the day, it was the Houston Texans versus the Denver Broncos. We came up here tonight. We did not play a good enough football game to get this job done."

Brandon Marshall: Broncos 'Want To Kill' Brock Osweiler

Oct 19, 2016 11:14 AM

The Denver Broncos will face off against the Houston Texans, Brock Osweiler's new team, on Monday Night Football this week.

Osweiler signed a big contract with the Texans in free agency after starting a handful of games for the Broncos during their Super Bowl run last season.

"There's no ill will toward Brock," linebacker Brandon Marshall said. "I am happy he got paid. But it's competition. We want to kill him."

Marshall believes the Denver defense is primed for a big week.

"We know that Brock likes to hold the ball so I feel that we can get a lot of good pressure on him," he said. "Just watching their offense, I think this can be a great week for us, I can say that."

Oct 14, 2016 1:07 PM

Russell Okung was taken to a hospital Thursday night after Denver's 21-13 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Okung was evaluated for concussion-like symptoms.

Okung played all 73 snaps for the Broncos' offense. But after the game, after the players had filed into the locker room, he began to have some difficulty. Multiple Broncos players said that two teammates helped him to the trainer's room.

Okung was given an IV and, after about 45 minutes in the trainer's room, was taken on a cart to a waiting ambulance. By 11 p.m. PT, Okung was released from the hospital and cleared to return to Denver with the team.

Gary Kubiak Won't Coach Broncos In Week 6 After Hospital Trip

Oct 11, 2016 12:21 PM

Gary Kubiak won't coach the Denver Broncos on Thursday after he was admitted to a Denver-area hospital following Sunday's loss to the Falcons.

Kubiak was diagnosed with a "complex migraine condition.''

Special-teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis will be the Broncos' interim coach this week.

"[The doctors] thought the prognosis for him was very, very good and they think that he's going to spend this week, he's going to have this week off, he's going to be back on Monday,'' John Elway said. "When it comes down to Gary's health, everybody's excited about what the prognosis is. We're just excited Gary's OK.''

Broncos To Start Paxton Lynch In Week 5

Oct 8, 2016 6:00 PM

The Denver Broncos will start Paxton Lynch in Week 5 with Trevor Siemian injured.

Dealing with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, Siemian was limited in practice Friday and was initially listed as questionable to play against the visiting Falcons.

"We have 48 hours here so we'll see how he comes out of it tomorrow, how he's feeling," Gary Kubiak added. "But he took a lot more today, so we'll see where he's at."

Lynch was the third quarterback drafted in the first round of the 2016 draft and will be the fifth QB in his class to earn a start in his rookie season (Carson Wentz, Dak Prescott, Jacoby Brissett, Cody Kessler).
