Broncos Find Compromise With Pistol Formation

Sep 28, 2015 1:08 PM

The Denver Broncos have seemed to find a solution to their offense that satisfies both Peyton Manning and Gary Kubiak with the pistol.

Kubiak wants a quarterback under center because it forces a defense to honor both sides of a formation unlike the shotgun.

Manning went 31-of-42 for 324 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3. Denver's offense played faster than they have all season and Manning was able to fade into his comfort zone.

"That was something coaches came up with during the week," Manning told reporters. "Green Bay did it last year against them late in the season and had pretty good success with it, so something that we've repped throughout training camp. But something they wanted to do this week and I imagine it'll be a part of the arsenal throughout the season whether we use it next week or two weeks from now, I don't know."

Broncos Remain 'Committed' To Gary Kubiak's Offense

Sep 25, 2015 12:23 PM

The Denver Broncos plan to stay committed to Gary Kubiak's playbook despite struggles by Peyton Manning and their switch to the up-tempo, shotgun-style offense.

"You stay committed to what you believe in," Kubiak said this week, per ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold. "We're going to get where we want to go offensively if we stay committed to something. We believe in what we're doing, been doing it a long time, we just got to get better at how we're doing it. As coaches that always starts with us. You don't run away from something, you keep working at it."

The Broncos have lost their big play ability this season.

"I think there's always going to be an adjustment, every season is going to bring an adjustment," Manning said. "I think no matter what's occurred in the offseason you're going to have new players in new positions and you're always going to be trying new things, it's certainly going to be an adjustment, I think that's fair. ... As long as we continue to work and improve, that's what we said all along, that's what we said we were going to do and that's what we will do."

Randy Moss Hasn't Attempted To Find NFL Team

Sep 21, 2015 1:41 PM

Randy Moss is remaining retired as he hasn't received any interest from teams in need of a wide receiver and he hasn't solicited interest either.

Moss is believed to only have interest in returning to the NFL to play with Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but he has no interest in playing just to play. Moss has publicly mused about a possible return.

Moss has an emerging career in broadcasting.

Von Miller wasn't impressed with Travis Kelce, who has been called "Baby Gronk" by some.

Kelce is one of the NFL's best tight ends beyond Rob Gronkowski.

Miller called Kelce "fake Gronk" on Twitter.

Miller threw Kelce to the ground during one running play by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kelce made a NSFW gesture toward Miller during a game last season.

Montee Ball Waived By Broncos

Sep 7, 2015 12:53 PM

The Denver Broncos have waived Montee Ball.

Ball was a second round pick at running back by the Broncos in 2013.

Ball spent all of the offseason program and virtually all of the preseason as the team's No. 2 back.

Ronnie Hillman closed out the preseason with a gaudy 7.4 yards per carry and a tight grasp on the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind C.J. Anderson.
