Agent: Julius Thomas Being Pushed Away From Broncos

Feb 21, 2015 9:19 PM

The agent for Julius Thomas believes his client is being pushed from the Denver Broncos.

Thomas will be a free agent this offseason.

His agent, Frank Bauer, says talks with the Broncos have gone quiet since last summer.

"The Broncos came to me, we tried to get it done, it didn't work," Bauer told The Denver Post on Friday. "Does Julius love Denver? Yes. Does Julius love the fans there? No question. Does he love the organization and the community? Look at what he does for kids in that town.

"But for some reason people are trying to tear him down. In my opinion what they're doing by tearing him down is pushing him away."

Julius Thomas' Father Criticizes Manning, Elway

Feb 18, 2015 1:32 PM

The father of Julius Thomas has criticized Peyton Manning and his treatment by the Denver Broncos' organization.

"Don't blame (John) Fox for (John) Elway giving Peyton the reigns and making him uncoachable, unapproachable and bigger than the TEAM," wrote Greg Thomas on Jan. 12.

"Too bad Fox didn't have the power to bench Manning. Using (Brock) Osweiler would have been a great transition for Franchise's future."

Greg Thomas also wrote in an email: "It’ll be totally classic to see him come back to Denver in Silver & Black and rip the Broncos and their loser fans a new one."

Asked about the report that he has assuaged concerned friends and family members with thoughts of retirement, Welker responded, "Never ever came out of my mouth."

The Denver Broncos are not expected to re-sign Welker, who has had a tough time staying on the field due to concussions.

Peyton Manning Meets With Broncos

Feb 13, 2015 6:25 PM

Peyton Manning met with John Elway and CEO Joe Ellis on Thursday as he works on deciding whether or not he'll play in 2015.

Ellis picked up Manning in New Orleans on the private jet of owner Pat Bowlen and then flew back to Denver to eet with Elway.

No decision was announced after Thursday's discussions, given that Manning would have to undergo a check-up.

Manning had said in Phoenix two days before Super Bowl XLIX that he wanted to meet with both Elway and Ellis and "look them in the eye" to discuss a possible return for the 2015 season.

Elway and new Denver coach Gary Kubiak have said they want Manning back for his fourth season with the Broncos.

The Denver Broncos have no plans on letting Demaryius Thomas leave in free agency and plan on using their franchise tag on him if necessary.

Peyton Manning Begins Working Out For 2015 Season

Feb 10, 2015 1:20 PM

Peyton Manning has already begun working out to prepare for the 2015 season.

Manning wants to see where he is physically in the next stage of the evaluation process.

Manning is expected to work with renowned strength and conditioning coach Mackie Shilstone this week, Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune reported.

Shilstone is a specialist in career longevity, most famous for his work with boxers Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins.

John Elway's confidence in Manning suggests the quarterback's slump was attributable to a lingering thigh injury rather than a sudden loss of arm strength that will remain a problem going forward.

Peyton Manning Could Decide In Coming Week

Feb 1, 2015 11:10 AM

Peyton Manning could decide in the coming week that he will return to the Denver Broncos in 2015.

Manning has been fairly persuaded that all will work well between him and new head coach Gary Kubiak, who is ready and willing to fit his scheme to play to the quarterback's strengths but it still will be Kubiak's system.

Manning said this past Friday he met with Kubiak last Wednesday.

Manning will have his annual checkup on his surgically repaired neck within 10 days of the start of the new league year, which begins March 10.

The checkup is to simply give the Broncos an idea of where Manning is physically after having spinal fusion surgery in 2011.
