Broncos Offer Five-Year, $50M Deal To Ryan Clady

Jul 31, 2014 5:40 AM

The Broncos have offered Ryan Clady a five-year, $50 million contract extension with $28 million guaranteed, according to a source. The $10 million a year average would make Clady one of the league's five highest-paid offensive tackles. He is scheduled to make $3.5 million this year. However, the source said Clady and his agent, Pat Dye, are seeking a deal that would slightly exceed the contract of Browns left tackle Joe Thomas, who received an extension last summer that averages $11.5 million a year.

Broncos Visit Colorado Shooting Victims

Oct 31, 2014 9:16 PM

A half dozen Broncos visited with survivors of the Colorado theater shooting on Sunday to try to lift their spirits. The group visited with five patients at the Medical Center of Aurora and also met with the emergency room staff that provided the initial treatment Friday morning. "What we were trying to do was go in there, show support and try to put a smile on these peoples' faces. But the thing is, they put a smile on our faces," linebacker Joe Mays said. "They had such positive attitudes. They knew they were blessed to live and they knew they were going to have another chance to walk about with their families."

Manning Wishes Broncos Went Away For Camp

Oct 24, 2014 7:19 PM

Peyton Manning is one of the few quarterbacks that actually enjoy training camp. "I do," Manning said. "I wish we went away. I know we stay there at the (team) facility and we stay (nearby) at a hotel. I've heard Coach (John) Fox and John Elway talk about potentially (moving away) again. I think there's something about going to a different site and just homing in on football. It's not as long as it used to be, but there's definitely some team bonding that occurs that I think can win a game for you down the line. Having breakfast with a guy, watching some film in the room with a guy; I think it helps." The Broncos begin their 10th consecutive training camp at Dove Valley with two practices Thursday. They moved training camp to team headquarters after spending 21 summers, from 1982-2002, at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

Rivers Likes Peyton On Broncos

Oct 31, 2014 4:44 AM

Peyton Manning's decision to sign with the Broncos couldn't be good news for the rest of the teams in the AFC West, but one star welcomes a new rival. "I was probably one of the few people that was crazy enough to say it, but I was hoping he was going to Denver," Chargers QB Philip Rivers said Wednesday on NFL Network. "And I say that with all respect. Certainly going to make it even tougher, you look at Indianapolis when he was there, they went like 10 straight years winning 10 games or more, so we certainly can't expect that 8-8 will get us in."

Broncos Could Tag Clady Next Offseason

Aug 4, 2014 2:16 AM

The likelihood of the Broncos placing their franchise tag on Ryan Clady next offseason is increasing. Contract negotiations between Denver and the All-Pro left tackle have hit a snag. The two sides recently exchanged multiyear proposals but the numbers were far enough apart that an NFL source said an extension by the time the team is to report to training camp next Wednesday does not seem likely. Clady is scheduled to make $3.5 million this season in the final year of his rookie contract.

Dumervil Flashed Gun During Traffic Incident

Oct 31, 2014 2:17 PM

Police say the arrest of Elvis Dumervil was preceded by a road-rage incident in which the Broncos defensive end and another man lifted their shirts and displayed firearms to people in another vehicle. A police report released Monday says Dumervil was driving his Range Rover in Miami Beach and following a silver Mercedes, in which another man, Andy Aguste, was a passenger. While stuck in traffic Saturday evening, a white Chevy Impala, driven by Kristine Ramirez, merged between the two cars. According to the police report, the parties got into a verbal argument that included horn-blowing and name-calling. At some point during the argument, the accusers in the Impala say, Aguste exited the Mercedes and approached them. Aguste allegedly verbally threatened the riders in the Impala and then lifted up his shirt to reveal a firearm in his waistband, police said. The accusers also say in the report that Dumervil, a Miami native, walked up to the Impala and lifted his shirt to display a firearm, but never said anything.
