Broncos Draft Osweiler To Learn Under Manning
The Broncos selected Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler with the 57th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
"I don't think it's one of those things where Peyton Manning feels threatened by any stretch," Broncos coach John Fox jokingly said.
"All in all, I thought (Osweiler) is what you're looking for in a prototypical quarterback. He's the guy we liked that we think has a bright future in the future."
Osweiler can't wait to join the Broncos.
"I could not be any more excited to be going to Denver to learn from Peyton Manning," he said. "A lot of quarterbacks might be upset having to sit behind somebody, where I look at it as a tremendous opportunity to learn from one of the best, if not the best to ever play the game."
Elway: Peyton Isn't Part Of Draft Process
The Broncos have added Peyton Manning, but the iconic quarterback will not be a part of the team's draft process this week.
However, Denver will look for players comfortable with Manning's no-huddle, audible-heavy style.
"Obviously if you look at where we were and where we are, the offensive mindset is different," executive vice president of football operations John Elway said.
Elway stressed that Manning's voice will not be present in the team's war room on Thursday night.
"Peyton has interest in what we do," Elway said, "but Peyton is not involved in the draft process."

Peyton Deferring To McCoy For Offensive Gameplan
Peyton Manning is leading on-field workouts for the Broncos, but the quarterback is still deferring to offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for the direction of the unit.
"We haven't gotten to that point," Manning said in response to reports Denver has changed to the no-huddle offense with which the quarterback is familiar.
"What we are going to do (offensively) here depends on what Mike McCoy decides, based on the players we have, and I'm open to whatever direction that takes."
Manning added he never really operated a hurry-up offense with the Colts. It was more "hurry-up-and-wait," he said.
"Snapping the ball in a hurry isn't truly what we did all the time," he said. "We had different tempos."

Garland was serving at the Air Mobility Command, headquartered at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois east of St. Louis.
Sources: Broncos Have Expressed Interest In Samuel
The Broncos have expressed interest in acquiring Asante Samuel from the Eagles, according to two sources.
Denver doesn't believe they'll be able to strike a deal with Philadelphia ahead of next week's draft. The talks between the two teams were far enough along, though, that proposals were exchanged.
The Titans and Lions also have been rumored as potential suitors for the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback.
Peyton's Broncos Debut Will Be In Prime Time
Peyton Manning's first game with the Broncos will be seen by a national audience on Sunday Night Football against the Steelers.
