It appears less likely that the Broncos will trade veteran quarterback Kyle Orton.
Andrew Brandt of The National Football Post reports that Orton's $1.5 million roster bonus was activated at 4:00 PM EST on Friday.
"Broncos unlikely to trade after making that commitment," Brandt wrote on his Twitter page.
The NFL Network's Jason La Canfora has since confirmed that Denver is no longer shopping Orton.

Broncos Holding Onto Orton?
Willis McGahee To Join Broncos

Broncos, Von Miller Reach $21M Deal

Miller signed a fully guaranteed deal worth more than $21 million over four years, which is about half of what he could have received under the old labor pact.
Orton Headed To The Dolphins?
A number of signs point to the Broncos trading veteran quarterback Kyle Orton to the Dolphins.
A trade is very close to happening, according to a source.
Orton would immediately begin competing with Chad Henne for Miami's starting job.
Cardinals Looking At Three Different Quarterbacks
The Cardinals, very much in need of a quarterback, are looking at four different options.
Arizona officials have had discussions with the Eagles about Kevin Kolb and the Broncos for Kyle Orton.
They have also expressed interest in signing former Ravens quarterback Marc Bulger.
Broncos Trade Gaffney To Redskins
The Broncos have traded wide receiver Jabar Gaffney to the Redskins for defensive end Jaremy Jarmon.
Gaffney, 30, has enjoyed the best statistical seasons of his career in his last two years.
In 2010, Gaffney set career highs by registering 65 catches and 875 yards for Denver.
Broncos Putting Orton On Trade Block
The Broncos have put Kyle Orton on the trading block as deals will be permitted beginning Tuesday morning.
Denver will soon begin entertaining offers for the veteran quarterback, according to two sources.
Moreno Hopes To Finally Meet Expectations
Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno hopes to finally meet expectations in Denver this season.
Moreno was drafted 12th overall by the Broncos in 2009.
He suffered a knee injury in his rookie training camp, then experienced serious hamstring issues last year.
"I want to come into the season in the best shape I can be," Moreno told The Denver Post. "I want my body to be in great shape so I can go out there and practice hard, practice to the best of my ability."
Dawkins Knows He'll Have To Take Cut To Remain With Broncos
Broncos safety Brian Dawkins is aware that he'll have to take a pay cut if he's going to remain with the team.
"When I signed this deal, I knew what it was," Dawkins said.
He signed a five-year, $17 million deal that included $7.2 million guaranteed in February 2009.
Dawkins, who will be 38 in October, hit a contract escalator that jumped his 2011 salary from $2.24 million to $6 million.
The Broncos want to take a large portion of that money back, according to The Denver Post.
"It was basically a two-year deal," Dawkins said. "I knew after a couple years there was a balloon (mechanism) and we most likely would have to restructure. That's no big deal to me."
Punter: Haley Believes McDaniels Was Cheating
Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt says that Kansas City head coach Todd Haley believes then-Denver head coach Josh McDaniels was cheating.
Last season, after the Broncos beat the Chiefs, Haley's post-game handshake with McDaniels was replaced with a pointed index finger.
"I don't know if I can answer that within the locker room, but I know that it has something to do with the Spygate, the videotaping," Colquitt said. "All the stuff like that. And I think that Haley was like, 'Listen, based on that game I can tell what you are doing, and you are cheating.'
"I think it was just a culmination of rumors and [McDaniels] had been involved in that in New England possibly before, and so Todd was just kind of saying, 'Look, with the game plan we had and what you guys already knew we were gonna do, this is' ... basically saying it was "bush, bush league.'"
Sharpe To Be Presented By Brother At Hall
