GM Denies Lack Of Support In Tebow

Sep 29, 2014 11:17 AM

Broncos general manager Brian Xanders has denied a report that Tim Tebow lacks support within the organization. "First of all, I think that report was false," Xanders said Friday. "I think there's a lot of people in our building that are behind Tim Tebow. He had a very successful career at Florida, and he's working hard in his career to become a better quarterback at the NFL level. He's somebody that the franchise invested a lot into in terms of draft picks and contract, but he's going to create his role, and he's done a good job so far with his limited opportunities. So, that report was false. "The big picture is, every player has to create their own role on the team and (coach) John Fox wants competition at every position."

Broncos, Bailey Reach Four-Year Deal

Sep 29, 2014 11:19 AM

The Broncos and Champ Bailey have agreed on a four-year deal. It's possible that the Pro Bowl cornerback could have earned more money on the open market. "One thing I've learned, the grass ain't always greener," Bailey. "I could go to an organization that looks like they're ready and then they're not ready and then I'm miserable because I'm around a lot of unfamiliar faces and in an unfamiliar place. "I thought about that and I thought about being on the market. But all in all, it didn't really take me to forgive them. There's new people in charge up there. I know that I could have gotten something worked out. Once Josh McDaniels left, things did work out, didn't it?" A source indicated Bailey signed a four-year deal that could be worth between $43 million and $47 million.

Fox Confirms Denver's Switch To 4-3 Defense

May 16, 2014 10:25 PM

New coach John Fox has confirmed that the Broncos will switch to the 4-3 defensive scheme. The Broncos moved to the 3-4 front under Josh McDaniels before the 2009 season after employing the 4-3 for 14 seasons under coach Mike Shanahan. "I think we'll make the commitment to the 4-3. The transition from the 3-4 to 4-3 is much easier than going from the 4-3 to 3-4," Fox said. "So we feel pretty confident about that switch."

Elway: Broncos Trying To Keep Bailey

Sep 29, 2014 11:26 AM

John Elway says the Broncos are trying to re-sign perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey. Bailey was about to sign an extension with Denver at the end of last year before the team pulled the offer. The Broncos are not planning to use their franchise tag on Bailey because that would cost them about $15 million in guaranteed salary next season. If they don't sign him to a new deal, Bailey would become an unrestricted free agent when a new collective bargaining agreement is hashed out.
