Report: Pats' Wilfork To Be Fined For Hit On Cutler

Jun 4, 2014 1:33 AM

Patriots' defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will reportedly be fined, but not suspended by the NFL after meeting with Roger Goodell about a hit on Denver quarterback Jay Cutler. Wilfork was summoned to meet with Goodell after the Broncos claimed tape of New England's 41-7 win on Oct. 20 showed Wilfork elbowing Cutler in the helmet. "I think both sides were happy," Wilfork said Wednesday. "He got a chance to hear my side of my story of how I approach the game. I got a chance to hear what he had to say about the whole situation of my past history and playing football and all that good stuff. So I think we both left pretty happy."

Cutler: My Arm Is Stronger Than Elway's

Oct 6, 2014 4:40 PM

Anyone who plays quarterback for the Broncos will inevitably be compared to John Elway, but Jay Cutler is comfortable with the comparisons. "I have a stronger arm than John, hands down," said Cutler. "I'll bet on it against anybody's in the league. Brett Favre's got a cannon. But on game days, there's nobody in the league who's going to throw it harder than I am at all." "Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre -- they all could get outside and make big plays," said Elway. "Cutler is either more athletic or has better arm strength than each of them. His arm is pretty special, might even be as good as mine when I was his age. Certainly, it's better than mine was at the end."

Shanahan: Henry Situation Is 'A Shame'

Oct 10, 2014 4:07 PM

Broncos' Coach Mike Shanahan believes that the situation surrounding running back Travis Henry is 'a shame'. Henry, released by Denver on June 2, was arrested Tuesday after an alleged cocaine deal. "Obviously, when a guy gets an opportunity, you're hoping that he is going to take advantage of it from a football side," Shanahan said. "And when he didn't do the things that he was supposed to do during the offseason program, obviously, we released him." "But for him to experience what he's experienced right now, I wouldn't wish that on anybody and it's really a shame." Henry had signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract with the Broncos before the 2007 season.

Travis Henry Arrested For Cocaine Trafficking

Dec 13, 2014 10:44 AM

Charges were filed against Travis Henry and James Mack this morning in U.S. District Court in Denver, according to a news release by Jeffrey D. Sweetin, Special Agent in Charge of the Rocky Mountain Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The drug sales involved more than five kilograms of cocaine, worth $100,000, according to an arrest warrant affidavit that referred to Henry as the "money guy" in an ongoing multi-state drug conspiracy. Henry told one Billings, Mont., customer that he and his family were all "dead" if they didn't come up with $40,000 worth of cocaine lost when their home was robbed, according to the affidavit. To make up for the stolen cocaine, Henry and Mack came up with a scheme to give another customer two kilograms of fake cocaine, or drywall, along with one kilogram of real cocaine, the document says.
