Mar 29, 2017 3:52 PM

The Dallas Cowboys are in no rush to decide Tony Romo's future.

Jerry Jones said Tuesday that his only timetable for a resolution on Romo's future is "before training camp."

"This is the offseason," Jones said. "We're not missing doing anything. From the standpoint of the franchise and the Cowboys, nothing is being held up here at all."

Jerry Jones' Legends To Profit Immensely Due To NFL Relocations

Mar 28, 2017 2:49 PM

Jerry Jones is a large shareholder of Legends, a hospitality-marketing company that will now sell the suites, concessions and sponsorships for the Las Vegas stadium for the Raiders.

Jones played a big role in guiding the Raiders to Las Vegas, as he did for the 49ers in Santa Clara and the Rams and Chargers in Los Angeles.

Legends is expected to earn hundreds of millions of dollars due to this new stadium activity.

Some valuations of Legends has eclipsed a few NFL teams.

Jason Witten, Cowboys Agree Upon Four-Year Extension

Mar 28, 2017 11:41 AM

Jason Witten and the Dallas Cowboys have agreed upon a four-year extension through 2021 on Tuesday that maxes out at $29.6 million and does not include more guaranteed money.

Witten turns 35 in May and was entering the final season of his deal. Witten is set to make $7.4 million in base salary and count $12.262 million against the cap. The Cowboys can restructure Witten's contract and earn close to $4 million in cap space whenever they need it.

This is the fourth contract Witten has signed with the Cowboys since he was a third-round pick in 2003.

CBS Pursuing Tony Romo

Mar 24, 2017 5:48 PM

CBS has joined Fox in pursuing Tony Romo as a broadcaster.

Romo remains in a holding pattern regarding his future as a player but he could also decide to retire.

Romo has had back and collarbone injuries the past two seasons that have limited him to parts of five games, and he played in just one series in 2016. Romo has two young sons and a third child on the way.

The Cowboys are content to wait for a trade for Romo as they don't need to release him for salary cap purposes.

DeMarcus Ware Announces NFL Retirement

Mar 14, 2017 7:53 AM

DeMarcus Ware has announced his retirement from the NFL.

A nine-time Pro Bowl selection, he'll turn 35 in late July and is eighth all-time in sacks with 138.5.

Ware needed one sack to tie newly minted Hall of Famer Jason Taylor and with four sacks he would have passed Michael Strahan and move into sixth place all-time.

Ware won a Super Bowl with the Broncos.

Cowboys Expect Doug Free To Retire

The Dallas Cowboys expect Doug Free to retire.

Free, 33, has played in and started 107 of a possible 112 regular-season games since 2010. The right tackle was in the final year of a restructured three-year deal in Dallas and was due $7.5 million.

At the combine, Stephen Jones suggested La'el Collins could play right tackle "if Doug were to retire or not be around."

Cowboys Unlikely To Find Trade For Tony Romo

Mar 11, 2017 6:24 PM

The Dallas Cowboys are now unlikely to find a trade involving Tony Romo.

The Cowboys will definitely part ways with Romo this offseason but had hoped to find a trade for him.

Teams appear unwilling to take on Romo's contract or overpay for him.

For their part, the Cowboys are unwilling to trade Romo to a city in which he does not want to play.

Romo has met twice with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones this offseason, including earlier this week when the quarterback's release looked imminent.

The Houston Texans and Denver Broncos are interested in Romo.
