The Dallas Cowboys have been receiving calls from teams interested in Darren McFadden, according to a source.
Dallas wants to keep McFadden despite having Alfred Morris and first-round pick Ezekiel Elliott on the roster.
The Denver Broncos are shopping Mark Sanchez to the Dallas Cowboys.
Dak Prescott is expected to start for the Cowboys, but they are looking for a veteran to serve as his backup.
Dallas, however, isn't interested in Sanchez at his current $4.5 million salary.
The Dallas Cowboys haven't shut the door on Dak Prescott remaining the starting quarterback even when Tony Romo's back is healthy enough for him to play.
A decade ago, the Cowboys benched Drew Bledsoe for Romo, who had gone undrafted out of Eastern Illinois.
"I can't imagine a scenario where Tony's not our quarterback when he's ready," vice president Stephen Jones said. "But things happen. You know that. You know what happened to Bledsoe and [Tom] Brady. I'm sure Tony's aware of that. But the reality is Tony's going to come back for us and play great, we believe."
Tony Romo has suffered a broken bone in his back and will miss six to 10 weeks.
Romo underwent an MRI on Friday.
Dak Prescott will assume starting quarterback duties for the Cowboys.
Romo played in just four games last season due to injuries.
Jerry Jones was not pleased to see a video on TMZ that appeared to show Ezekiel Elliott at a marijuana dispensary hours before the rookie running back was set to make his preseason debut with the Dallas Cowboys.
In the video, a man reported to be Elliott was seen in Herban Legends in Seattle, but he was not shown making any purchases.
"Well, I think that in and of itself the reason we are talking about is in a way part of the learning process," Jones said. "But it's not good. It's just not good. It's just not good."
Marijuana remains a banned substance in the NFL, although its recreational use is legal in the state of Washington.
Elliott is also under investigation by the Columbus, Ohio, district attorney's office for an alleged domestic violence incident involving a former girlfriend. Elliott has denied the accusations, but he has yet to be interviewed.
The Cowboys have backed Elliott and have not seen his story change.
The New England Patriots registered for three trademarks around the time of the 2014 Super Bowl, when Bill Belichick often used the phrase "Do Your Job."
However, the Dallas Cowboys have been using the refrain lately, going as far as to have the phrase printed on a wall at their practice facility.
Rob Gronkowski, or someone running his Gronk Nation website, noticed a picture of the phrase posted on social media and penned a response to something they believe will have them "facing the wrath of Patriots fans."
"While we all know that the Pats thrashed the Cowboys 30-6 last October and Dallas hasn't been to the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, so they need all the motivation they can get -- but can't America's Team come up with their own slogan instead of stealing ours?"
Dez Bryant suffered a concussion during Monday's practice and will miss the Dallas Cowboys' game against the Seattle Seahawks.
"I promise I'm ok Cowboy nation #x.." wrote Bryant on Twitter.
In two preseason games, Bryant has four catches for 74 yards and two touchdowns, as he returns from a broken foot that required two surgeries and limited him to nine games last year.
Bryant missed five games after undergoing surgery after breaking the fifth metatarsal in his right foot the day after the season opener. He hurt his knee in his second game back and struggled to make an impact as the Cowboys suffered from substandard quarterback play.
Travis Frederick and the Dallas Cowboys have agreed upon a six-year, $56.4 million extension with $28.2 million guaranteed.
Frederick has yet to sign the contract. He was in the locker room getting dressed for Saturday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams when the deal became finalized.
"Obviously there's risk involved any time you step out on the field, whether it's practice or a game, so to have the security of having it done before I stepped on the field in case anything happened was important," Frederick said. "But also because I wanted to have that behind me so I could really focus on football."
Frederick was a first round pick in 2013 and has not missed a start at center, being named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past two seasons.
There is no chance Johnny Manziel will resurface with the Dallas Cowboys, according to vice president Stephen Jones said.
"There's no chance," Jones said on CBS Sports Radio's "Tiki and Tierney," when asked if the Cowboys would consider signing Manziel.
"Obviously Johnny needs to get his hands around his life. He needs to do the things that make him a good person off the field, I think, before he can ever be successful in our league."
There has been a steady stream of speculation regarding Manziel joining the Cowboys almost since the day the Cleveland Browns released him in March.
