Dez Bryant Claims Eagles Were 'Kinda' Cheap'

Nov 30, 2014 1:57 AM

Dez Bryant had several confrontations with the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive backs that led to him getting a busted lip. Bryant also said he was elbowed in the hip.

"They were being kinda cheap," Bryant said. "That's another story. It is what it is. I'll get it cleaned up and I'll be fine."

Bryant can't wait for the rematch in Week 15.

"I'm really not mad at all," Bryant said. "They beat us and I'm going to accept that, but [expletive] can't wait, but not looking past Chicago [on Dec. 4], but I cannot wait to go up there and play [Philadelphia] again. Cannot wait."

Every NFC Rival Tried To Hire Oregon DC After Chip Kelly Went To Eagle

Nov 28, 2014 11:03 AM

Every team in the NFC East tried ot hire former Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti after the Philadelphia Eagles hired Chip Kelly in 2013

"I have been asked by everybody in the NFC East," Aliotti, now retired, told The Oregonian on Monday. "The Giants asked me to come back when Chip got the first job. I didn't feel right doing that. Some teams have called when they're getting ready to play the Eagles and they call and have certain questions on the thing. Unless I know the guy and he's a good friend, I don't get involved with that."

Aliotti was coordinator at Oregon from 1999 until 2013 when he retired.

Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas Likely To Receive Franchise Tag

Dec 14, 2014 3:02 PM

Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas will likely receive franchise tags this offseason in free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos have been unable to make progress on extensions with their star wide receivers.

Bryant's negotiations have grown somewhat contentious, sources said. The Cowboys thought a deal with Bryant was close before the season started. Bryant has since changed agents, which displeased Jerry Jones.

Top receiver deals can average over $15 million per season, and with the franchise tag set at just under $13 million. Players could be franchised twice in a row if need be, at roughly $30 million total.

The Cowboys have to contend with DeMarco Murray's free agency, while the Broncos need to keep Julius Thomas.

Cowboys Have Offered Dez Bryant 'Some Really Nice' Contracts

Nov 26, 2014 6:04 PM

Dez Bryant is in the final year of his rookie contract and has been in discussions with the Dallas Cowboys on a new deal.

Bryant recently hired Roc Nation to represent him with Tom Condon taking the lead in contract talks. The Cowboys have worked on previous deals with Condon.

“We’ve offered him some really nice contracts,” Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said. “We also have to respect his views on where it is. My take on those things is that they ultimately find a way.

“I have a lot of confidence we will. I think Dez wants to be here and I know we want him here.”

Cowboys Concerned About Giving Dez Bryant Long-Term Deal

Nov 23, 2014 5:08 PM

The Dallas Cowboys have concerns about signing Dez Bryant to a long-term contract with guaranteed money due to his off-field issues.

"This is a genuine concern," Rapoport said. "The Cowboys, I am told by multiple sources involved in the situation, do not trust Dez Bryant off the field. They feared -- and they have feared for a while -- that it will all blow up in his face, that a variety of small incidents will all come back to haunt him. ...

"I went to the DeSoto (Texas) City Police Department. I found six instances of police coming to Dez Bryant's house -- that's where he lives, in DeSoto. Among the incidents -- and none of these were convictions -- there was a harassment incident, there was a robbery at his house, the fire department had to come and unlock his car that had a sleeping baby inside. All of these things give the Cowboys cause for concern. He's had anger management; they have a manager with him at all times. But they are very nervous, and this is one reason they have not wanted to give him the guaranteed money that most elite receivers get."

Bryant will be a free agent this offseason and has been one of the NFL's most productive wide receivers.

"Well, Dez Bryant just changed agents, so talks may start off," Rapoport said. "This was their best offer to Dez Bryant: 10 years, $114 million. Sounds pretty good. Well, I am told only $20 million of that was guaranteed, only $5 million signing bonus, and over the first six years, he would make $10 million (per year) -- not the salary of an elite receiver."

Tony Romo Probable For Week 10

Nov 8, 2014 2:06 PM

Tony Romo is listed as probable for the Dallas Cowboys Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Romo is dealing with a back injury.

Romo was a full participant in practice on Friday.

"He looked pretty comfortable to me," coach Jason Garrett said of his quarterback, prior to Friday's practice. "Clearly he's coming back off of this thing and wanted to get the blood flowing through his body and get his movement back both in the pocket and also throwing the football. I feel like he had a pretty good day yesterday."

Jones Expects Tony Romo To Play In Week 10

Nov 7, 2014 10:30 AM

The Dallas Cowboys are not committing to a starter at quarterback for their Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Jerry Jones says Rony Romo will play.

Romo suffered two transverse process fractures in his back on Oct. 27.

"I'm anticipating him playing, have no reason to think that he won't and this will be a nice little practice session for him out there today," Jones said. "But my expectations are for him to play."

When asked if he would play Sunday, Romo said: "We'll see. I think we'll take it day by day and see what happens as we move closer. It's improving each day. We did some things today that were a positive. If it keeps going in that direction, we'll have a good chance."

Dez Bryant Hires Roc Nation, Open To Discussing Extension Now

Nov 17, 2014 1:17 PM

Dez Bryant has hired Jay-Z's Roc Nation to represent him after firing Eugene Parker.

Bryant said he's now willing to discuss an extension with the Dallas Cowboys.

Bryant's rookie contract, a five-year, $11.8 million deal, expires at the end of the season. He believes he deserves to be one of the NFL's highest-paid receivers and is seeking a deal that would pay him around $13 million per year.

The Cowboys could use the franchise tag on Bryant.

"I'm going to tell you the God's honest truth: I'd be highly disappointed," Bryant said of the possibility of the Cowboys using the franchise tag on him. "I'd be highly disappointed."

Tony Romo Fractured Two Transverse Process, Could Still Play In Week 9

Nov 2, 2014 10:17 AM

Tony Romo suffered two fractured transverse process in his back in the Dallas Cowboys' loss to Washington, but there remains a chance he can play on Sunday.

The Cowboys and Romo have stressed this is not related to the disk surgery he had last December and is not a threat to end his season.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported Romo would either start or be inactive against the Cardinals. He did not practice all week and is officially listed as questionable.

The transverse process is a small bone that sticks out from either side of the vertebrae.
